I actually really like the Daewoo Matiz. Didn't like it's Chevy rebranded version, 'the spark'.

Before the fluidic design language, Hyundai was not particularly known for it's design. They launched verna, which was a decent product with neutral looks. Somehow they managed to make it worse and worse with each update. I think the below version is the last version before the fluidic verna was launched.

It's funny the car that once received the most beautiful car design award in Uk and Italy is now an ugly car, how time flies. Matiz was designed by Italdesign, it distinctly was not Korean in its looks.

Agree with some choices here (Dolphin City, A-Star, HM Trekker & Veer, Quanto, Novosport, 2020 Creta), Some notable cars still missing from this list:

Ford Escort: Some liked it. I found it downright ugly compared to its' competitors (Opel Astra, Mitsubishi Lancer and Daewoo Cielo)

I would not say this is the ugliest car on sale today but it certainly is one of the ugliest cars in the sub 4m CSUV segment, without a doubt, when viewed from the side.

It just looks so incomplete, while I do understand they just modified the Tivoli to suit the segment but they could've atleast done something to not make it look like it's an incomplete car, like someone took a car with normal proportions, and then just chopped it in the back with a hacksaw.

It is especially more painful to watch considering, excluding the looks ( specifically the side profile ), this is one of the best cars in the segment. Powerful diesel and petrol engines and a feature loaded interior. Even the whole of the car doesn't look that bad because from the front, it looks so wide and mean, probably the meanest looking car in the segment, but it fails oh so miserably when it comes to the side view.

Mahindra Bolero is again ugly. Maruti Wagon - R ugliest of them all.

In my 17 years of TBHP membership, never did I imagine that I would be witness to such a discussion! I mean, come on guys - we are a community of car lovers, remember? Each and every one of us is a member of this forum because we "Love cars, Live cars", and there is no love without respect. With this underlying philosophy, does it make any sense at all to badge a particular car as "ugly" and other derogatory adjectives? Of course there are designs which are less pleasing to the eye than others but it is absolutely unfair to ridicule a particular car/design just because YOU do not happen to like it! Apologies for the rant but I simply could not stand any car being called "ugly", however quirky the design might be. Requesting moderators to step in and close this thread, please!

On a related note - no offence to anyone, but of late I have started to see threads which appear to have been spawned just for the sake of it! Let us maintain the sanctity of this forum and not let it downgrade to one of the countless low-quality ones on the internet.
