Oh I am yet to see any in hyderabad.

Indigo is a very reliable car. Competition will surely make people realise it's VFM.
If Mahindra goes for a price cut immediately, won't it affect the brand of not just itself but also renault.

The Logan's pricing is a huge blunder. It would be interesting to see how the Logan would compare on price alone with the next generation Indica/Indigo. Whats more, even a minor facelift or rather cosmetic tweaks are atleast a year away on the Logan. What were they thinking?!

Yes, the logan is way to expensive for a CHEAP car

BTW, there are 6 BHPians who say that it is not overpriced

The arrival of the stripped down version of Indigo XL would change the dynamics of the equation quicker than expected.

Now the real competition starts for Logan

Tata Indigo GLX / SX : 562,180 / 651,332
GTO, the ikon is available in only one version, ie the FLAIR. Thats should retail around the 5.6 mark, but from where did the second quote (6Lakhs) arise?

IMHO, i feel the Logan is definitely trying to project itself as a 'cheap and affordable' car, while the prices and features on offer say otherwise.

Sure pricing is messed up, but how does the Logan compare on the space? I think (dunno for sure) it offeres the best among the C- segment? I think this is one of the key differentiators within the Esteem, Ikon and the Indigo (non XL)

The pricing on the Logan has maybe killed the potential for a price war between the entry level C-Segmenters. The revised Indica platform spawning the New Indigo being quite far away, I dont think its in Tata's court right now to do something (They just launced the Upgraded Indigo a few months back). Logan just acted as a dampener.

In anycase with its looks and cheap materials, it was never going to appeal to the personal buyers and with the pricing they killed the Taxi market as well.

However, having a hunch, that the price points for each segments is undergoing an upward shift (towards where it began, from the intermediate periods where the prices were coming down).

Ofcourse, one ought to expect good discounts from a dying/old stable. Freshness of a model is the premium we pay. And it's not just the case with Logan, but with every vehicle that's a new launch.

Logan is too new to be compared with discounted models.

And comparatively better reliability is what we gain from the old horses as against being guinea pigs with new launches.

Talking about freshness of the Logan, I fail to see any, and the same also goes with many others who went to the showroom and came back without even taking a TD. My brother who went to take a test drive of the Logan was so disgusted seeing it in flesh, and after a really short spin, thanked them and bowed out. The same person who tried out the Vdi Swift was raving over it.
