Re: The best car advertisement taglines used in India

Some great ads over the years. Obvious names so won't repeat.

Two from the not so old times that held my imagination.

'Choose to Cruze' . For a long long time in my early adulthood, Chevrolet Cruze was a car I aspired to buy. Sharp looks and this tagline had a great deal to play in that. I never ended up buying one is a different matter all together.

'Feel like God' Bajaj Avenger. Not a car tagline but still thought of mentioning.

The advertisement was pretty cool as well so was the brotherhood day video that they launched later.

:-) The English meaning is right under the German. I am noticing it just now, after all these years.

😅 I also only noticed while putting up the image. I remember seeing the TV commercial. Something with lighting a match while doing a slalom course 😅

Tata Safari and Indica ads were right up there with some of the best. The copies used in some of their ads, like the ones with number of hours spent indoors etc, were absolutely brilliant.

With the BMW one, I would also like to add copies from their campaign by Ogilvy few years ago 'Don't postpone joy' which they often pushed along with finance schemes.

Honestly I felt the flg one was a bit too desperate trying to catalyse the sense of community that some other brands enjoy. And while they have made brilliant ads in the past, they seem to have lost the plot recently. For instance 'dominate the night' for Dominar or 'Leave track racing to amateurs' for Pulsar 200 RS.

Some other favourites come from:
Triumph - For the ride. Neat and simple and they blend it well in all their promo videos.
Royal Enfield - 'Trip' which was accompanied by a series of brilliant full page magazine print ads about a decade back. They would have a tale, often about haunted places, along with the road / place details and end with 'trip'.

This is a nice Instagram account you can check out if you are interested in more car ads from the west..

5. After owning a Ford for 20 years, can confirm that this actually holds loads of meaning in it. Those who own a Ford will understand.

8. Found this one really cheeky. It's a BMW ad in German. It says, "Even a Mercedes can bring home driving pleasure."

All images taken from google images and respective Team-BHP therads.
Own a Ford, can related to the Family Wali Feeling... and also to Hum Bade Hain - specific to the Endeavour:-)

However, Hamara Bajaj and then India comes home in a Maruti would be the all time top 2 for me, in that order

The Safari's ads have been already discussed at length in this thread.
Couldn't resist posting this.

P.S. This is the start up video on my Dicor's Android 2-Din head-unit. Talk about mid-life crisis!

Bajaj did some seriously awesome creatives after the timeless 'Hamara Bajaj'!

1st - Feel like God (Avenger).

2nd - And the Pulsar Mania

Enjoy!

Very interesting thread, ChiragM.

For me, the Tata Safari's, "Reclaim your Life" ranks the highest. Their adverts were super classy and I would wait for the ads on tv.

The second place would go to the Mahindra's Advert showcasing all their jeeps with the finale being the XUV500. That was a good tag line too. It definitely changed the perspective of owning a Mahindra.

Third place would be the Bajaj tag line, Definitely Ahead. I loved the XCD125 advertisement. Especially the last part of the rider on that open straight road flanked by mountains on both sides.

Re: The best car advertisement taglines used in India

When it comes to taglines in India, I don't think there can be any other tagline that can beat "KITNA DETI HAI?"

Of course "Definitely male", "Hoodibaba", "No problem!", "Make your own road", "The best or nothing", "Fill it Shut it Forget it", "it's a Caaaaaaaaar!", are all beautifully done, "Kitna deti hai" is the best of all

Re: The best car advertisement taglines used in India

Of all the ones, I think Maruti - India comes home in a Maruti & M&M - Live young, live free are timeless for me. I am not sure if anyone mentioned but the Chevy Optra ad was mind blowing too. I am your dream, I am your prayer, I am your answer, I am Chevrolet! That just knocked the message out of the window but sad the brand was never a brand in India.

I agree, it was real catchy for Indian customers. Following was one of my favourites.

Santro wale hai was also good.
