Launches in 2021 will include A-class Limousine, second-gen GLA and New-gen S-class also due in second half of 2021.





The A-Class Limousine is now set to be the first all-new model from Mercedes-Benz for India, and will be launched around March-April. It will be followed by the second-gen GLA launch

Mercedes-Benz India has also confirmed the launch of Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series. This will be the first time a Black Series AMG will be offered in India

Mercedes-Maybach S 580 to be assembled at Chakan plant to arrive in 2021. Maybach S-Class range to include 12-cylinder S 680, will be brought in as a CBU.





Maybach S 580 will get a more powerful 500hp twin-turbo V8, with the addition of 48-volt hybrid tech, and a four-wheel-drive system for improved traction.

Also on the cards is the sublime 12-cylinder Maybach. More silent than an electric car, the Maybach S 680 will get a 612hp engine and will also come with 48-volt tech and 4Matic four-wheel drive.

Prices for the Maybach range are likely to start at around Rs 2.2 crore for the assembled S 580, with the imported S 680 likely to retail for upwards of Rs 2.7 crore.

3 or 4 out of the 15 will be meaningful launches that have some relevance in the market. The others will be pointless CBU imports of which only a handful of pieces will be shipped in for the sole purpose of generating a press release, keeping the brand in the news and adding some sheen.
