With the new pricing of the Superb, there is a bit more room for the next generation Octavia to be priced higher than the previous generation Octavia without being too closely priced to the Superb.

That's the way I look at it too. Folks shopping for the big 3 will buy the big 3, but to me, Superb is a A6/E-class/5 series for almost half the price rather than looking at this against the A4/C-class/3 series.

All good cars in the end and it's good to have choices in the Indian market.

3L extra on OTR is way too high for the Sportline, for the additional 3 features, as I see it. Atleast for me, the AFS is a feature I would probably use less than 1% of times, given the discomfort of night highway drives. The only extra I am liking is the wireless AA/CarPlay.

While the initial launch price of facelift was lucrative, I don't see this worth the extra money any more.

VW call the new cockpit as "Active Info Display" and I've got this on my 6th-gen VW Polo. Sadly, like Skoda, they don't support Android Auto/Apple CarPlay on the active info display. Navigation on the active info display is limited to the useless VW maps. When in the display mode shown in the picture below, you connect a smart phone and open Google Maps/Waze/Apple Maps on the head unit of the car, the Active Info Display/cockpit changes to a blank screen with a message "Navigation on mobile device"



On another note, that two spoke steering looks like its missing a tooth! Its hideous!!

I believe Audi zealously ensures that VW & Skoda are a one generation behind in this regard.

This car never fails to impress me. Skoda might have messed up with their strategy or pricing on their other models, but never with Superb. They cautiously update the model and makes it more VFM.

I recollect one saying from autocar magazine back from 2007/08 - they described Superb as “For C class money - you get E class luxury” - I believe they’re maintaining this tag line for over a decade now.

For me two spoke wheels are an eye sore, no matter which vehicle has it. It is just a personal preference.

I recently brought home a MY20/21 Superb and can confirm that it supports wireless Apple CarPlay. This has been such a blessing as each time I start the beast, my phone auto connects to ICE and I can make use of all the benefits of CarPlay without even taking my phone out of my pocket.

It is my first post here.I have a budget of about 35L. Want a car that is of good built quality and safe. The daily drive is less so petrol or diesel does not matter much. Is the Jeep compass a good option? Or we were looking at the skoda superb L&K by stretching a bit. Also the upcoming Mercedes A class Limo seems interesting for the badge value. What would be the general choice for people here skoda superb or A class Limo? Any input is highly appreciated.

Superb anyday, it is a ₹50Lakh sedan being offered for ₹35Lakh! Engine specs, performance, space the Superb trumps the A class. The A-Class is only for the badge value.

I was in the same boat till 2 weeks back, oscillating between Superb, BMW 330i and even Jeep Compass and finally booked Superb Sportline last week.

Between Compass and Superb unless you absolutely need higher GC and 4x4 abilty of Jeep, Superb is a no brainer. From the time I took TD of Superb it felt a lot more luxurious and fun to drive. If you are looking for a car north of 30L it has to feel special and put a smile to your face which Superb does very well.

I loved the BMW as well but decided against it as the 20L gap in onroad price was not 'justifiable' to me.

I would say TD A class and Superb if you have not already done and decide. For me Superb gets the vote.
