Well I want Ford to introduce the STORM version here in India which is an AWD vehicle. That is something I have been expecting since last couple of years and may not get this fulfilled at all.

At almost 50k lesser than the 2020 model, I feel the Titanium+ AT is terrific value for money. It has 6 airbags, a good engine+AT combo and is reasonably well built.

I don’t understand why Ford isn’t introducing Android Auto / Apple Carplay in Titanium variant at least. I mean even A segment entry level cars get it now and here we have a 10L car devoid of this basic feature but gets a sunroof in a country where majority of the geography sees 8-9 months summer. Weird market ours

Never the less Titanium+ AT looks like a good value proposition

I think someone on this forum had mentioned that Ford had conducted a market survey that concluded that Indian consumers aren't really keen on Android Auto/Apple Carplay. Maybe the same group of exceptional PR market/product analysts told Ford you need a Sunroof in your product for it to sell (they might be on to something though!).

Rightly pointed. With current scenario, Ford needs to be more aggressive if they want to sustain in market like India. They need to provide more to this car than just cosmetics. Fact that they don't have anything between Ecosport and Endeavour, leaves a quite big gap for consumers and they have to go for the likes of Cretas / Seltos / etc. At one point in 2018 -19, there were rumors of Ford Kuga getting launched in India to fill up this gap but then, that never happened.
With all the current companies present would really hate to see Ford leaving India, but with their policies and strategies they may eventually be on the same road as of GM

The great Indian customer paid attention in high school physics class and now loves the sunroof for a reason - hot air will become lighter and escape through the sunroof while (relatively) cool air will enter through the windows...

It is hard to fathom why the titanium AT was removed. When the competition is offering automatics across the range, Ford goes and does the opposite.
Same is the case with Figo/Freestyle.
Clearly they have got some market insight which no one else does :-/

Why is ford flogging a dying horse. Ecosport needs a fresh new look, and not features. Agree that customers are interested in Sunroof for their cars, but then it forms a tiny percentage in the decision making check-list. b. Consumers also need to be reassured that Ford is here to stay (Given all the rumours, and the break-up with Mahindra). My friend, in the market for a SUV, looked away from a Ford for exactly that reason.

Though Sunroof is a good addition to Ecosport but will not make much impact on the sales numbers. The market with CSUV is flooded with features. IMO Ford cant survive much longer with the Ecosport, Figos and Endeavour.

Reduced price makes the base model Ambiente MT more VFM.

Agreed, the new Ecosport needs to come as soon as possible. When a product is mechanically this competent, reliable and fun to drive, all it needs is a fresh new look with fresh underpinnings. Hopefully, the development of the new-gen gets completed fast and is brought to market quickly. Ford also needs to stop with the variant rejig every few months, it is pretty irritating for prospective customers.

That said, I still find the looks of the current Ecosport to be among the best in the compact SUV segment. I am a sucker for clean and proportionate designs, and the butch looks of the Ecosport still appeal to me as compared to most of the other offerings in the market. However, there is a huge customer base for whom newest is best, and for this demographic alone, a refreshed and new look Ecosport would probably be the best thing for Ford to ensure.

Seems like ford can never get its act right? have been following eco sport as a replacement for ageing(not really its 6 yrs old and runs like a charm) Amaze, was looking for a slightly agile engine , lethargy of Amaze has gotten boring.
Titanium-AT dropped silently and heck no Android-Auto on a 11L car is unbelievable!
Top end not sure why was offered with AT.
Earlier they had a Thunder variant , it cost the same as Titanium+ and missed out on Auto headlights , wipers and Curtain airbags !! Wonder who went in for it
These changes make a buyer(like me) nervous ! need to re-think if i want ecosport in the consideration list.

I hope this move is not to clear out stocks and exit India. Rather hoping this is to give way for the new gen model.

IMO New-Gen Ecosport and a new model to fill the gap between Ecosport and Endeavor could help Ford regain its grip on the market against new hot competition.

I just saw a video on the AutoTrend channel on the Ecosport update. I was kind of shocked when the host said that Titanium now comes with ESC, TCS and HLA.

Sure enough Ford model compare page shows it to be right. Didn't realize this before but it's nice that Ford has introduced these in the lower Titanium variant too.

Also, the Titanium plus variant has been removed from the model comparison page (Ford Ecosport Model Compare) so I guess news of further updates on this variant is true.
