Don't know why but the red looks like a poorly done mod job.
The grey is definitely delicious

It reminds me of a Jetta from the front and a Škoda from the rear. It retains the overall VW feel that feels both 2010 and 2022 at the same time. Safe to say 11L ex showroom is a safe bet.

The front looks a lot similar to Vento. On road many people will definitely think its a Vento. I feel Skoda somehow manages to design its cars better than VW, be it Rapid, Kushaq, Kodiaq or the latest Slavia.

The Virtus looks really good, the right mixture of class and sportiness as someone mentioned earlier.

Arguably the best looking offering from the MQB A0-IN platform presently.

That roofliner looks cheap! Also surprising that they have retained the Taigun dash instead of using the one from Slavia. Still, looks more classier exteriors wise compared to Slavia. But, interiors are better in the Skoda.

Coming from an existing Vento ownership experience, I would say that the Virtus is evolutionary from the outside but has added the 'r' on the inside to make it revolutionary

VW should have gone for a better design of the alloys. Skoda Slavia has much better looking alloys IMO.

That purple lighting in the launch event is awful! Just use white lights and let people see the car's color pop - this not that hard VW!

re: Volkswagen Virtus, now unveiled

I hope that there are no compromises on the build quality. The overdose of Chrome all around is not soothing on my eyes at least. I really hope that this turns out good and I can exchange my 8+ year old GT for Virtus. Also VW has done a very poor job on their virtual experience site https://www.volkswagen.co.in/app/site/360/virtus/. The colors look unreal , actually very bad in my view.
For me personally looks are not the only thing , as long as VW has not compromised on it's core values and has priced it decently well , then we should be good. Eagerly awaiting the official review from team bhp.

Looked the above promo picture and the Chrome Garnishing is spoiling the looks.

No one does it better than VAG when it comes to mixing class with sportiness. The Slavia no doubt looks stunning but the Virtus looks better due to clean design of front grill.

re: Volkswagen Virtus, now unveiled

The exterior design, especially the rear part and tail lamps looks far better in the Virtus than in the Slavia.
Like all VW's, this design will age well and looks quite sorted.

My heart says, sell your Verna and buy a Virtus 1.5TSI, after all it is just one life we are going to live.
But I will never risk on a DSG.

I fail to understand why they always give a DSG with high powered engines, even though there are many complaints about inherent DSG design issues, instead of a reliable Torque convertor unit.
Can someone throw some light on this ?

That's a looker from VW, Honestly, Loved the classy, clean look in this, Reminds me of the Jetta from the first glance, Can go on to say that this is an updated Jetta?

Specs for comparision - Virtus Vs (Jetta)

Dimensions:
Length: 4561 mm (4659mm)
Width: 1752 mm (1778mm)
Height: 1507 mm (1453mm)
Wheelbase: 2651 mm (2648mm)
Bootspace: 521 litres (510 litres)

Pretty close specs, Looks like this one will grow on me.
Surely a strong contender to upgrade from my existing Jetta.

Going by the same logic as yours, it is one life we live, and isnt the case that the DSG will fail every day. So for that one day it fails, why miss out on the other days of fun? I think enough has been discussed on the use of the DSG. Globally VW have been using and developing DSGs from a long time and it was only an exception for the 1.0L that too for India and China that they switched to a torque converter. Apart from that, for the sort of volumes they do in India, it wont make sense to integrate a TC automatic exclusively for our market. Instead they could use the same effort in improving the reliability of the DSG itself over the years.

In my mind this is a clearly better looking vehicle than Slavia, like hands down better. Kudos! Does it have lesser ground clearance than Slavia? It does not look as raised as Slavia.
