This is what fellow Seltos owners shared after the gearbox software update on DCT.
* It's a lot smoother now in normal mode.
* While driving steep uphill and even with more than gentle throttle input, it used to stay only in 1st gear with rpm hovering around 3000-3500, revvs were much higher. But now with the update, it moves to 2nd gear and @2000 rpm. Overall, things have smoothened out.
Appears like Kia has mellowed down things a bit with DCT in specific driving conditions, giving economy a push since acceleration and quick shifts were already strong points with DCT.
Owners can chip in and confirm if any improvement in FE is observed in city driving, which is likely to happen with such tuning. DCT otherwise struggles to touch the 2 digit FE mark in driving cycles that has heavy city traffic. Would be interesting to see if there's an improvement on that front with this update.
