I think Fiat gave a lot of color choices when they launched Palio in 2001 and due to the good looks of the car, people felt more comfortable buying the car in the unusual colors like Orange, Green and Silver Blue. My dad bought a silver one but even he considered swapping to an orange one when he saw one on the road but that would have meant increasing the waiting period by another 3-4 months so we stuck with silver.

Re: Indian cars with unusual colours from the factory

Mom's Electric Blue Getz which we sold in 2018. Still a great looking hatchback. Our car was the first Getz in this shade sold by Advaith Hyundai (Residency Road) in 2006 and we had to wait 3 weeks to get this car.

This Blue later became common with i10s, Celerios, and Fiestas 3-5 years later.

Re: Indian cars with unusual colours from the factory

Sorry for the poor quality of the picture. This was taken in 2010. As my handle name suggests, this is the Chevrolet Aveo 1.6 LT in the extra cost colour of "Amber Metallic". It was bright. Very bright. I was quite popular amongst the ladies of my college at that time as this colour made me stand out even in company of Fortuner, Pajero and Scorpio that my friends used to bring. Nostalgia hit me hard on this one .

Yellow Laura RS and a few Tiagos in yellow and blue shades standout from the rest.

The Figo/Aspire in Deep Impact Blue metallic.

(picture from this forum itself)

I have the same color Figo and I got a good deal because apparently these colors are not usually kept in stock by dealerships, rather, they are ordered on demand. Someone had booked the car and canceled which meant it was sitting on the showroom floor for a while.

It's a little hard to get touch-ups/paintwork done due to difficulties in procuring the exact matching color though.

Re: Indian cars with unusual colours from the factory

Nano must win the top spot in this discussion, I have never seen an Indian vehicle being offered in more choice of colours! Full marks for creativity, no one else offered a bright lime green .

My personal favourite is Civic's purple (already discussed in the first few comments previously) followed by this shade of blue in Altis.

I have this same color Swift Dzire ( Vehicle in photo is not mine ). It is a unique color comparing to the standard white and black colored Dzire's seen on the road. This color was also offered in the 2nd Generation Swift Dzire too.

Re: Indian cars with unusual colours from the factory

First gen WagonR came in this colour, around 2003, then disappeared. The colour is Mountain Mist. This image seemed appropriate. This is the colour of my WagonR as well.

Re: Indian cars with unusual colours from the factory

The Safari dicor GX in a unique dual tone combination was one of the rarest color combination in our indian auto space I feel.
The best one was that quartz black (looked blueish, greenish black) body with a real earth (moondust gold) cladding.

The other extreme was the hideous nailpolish pink in the Maruti estilo.

Coincidentally spotted this yellow Ameo this morning. Is this a standard colour?

Re: Indian cars with unusual colours from the factory

And who could forget the beige exterior color of the last generation of the Hyundai Creta? My cousin has that same color and after spending a day with that car, I was left confused by the color of it. In the morning, during dawn/early hours, the color looks like mocha or a light shade of dark brown. During the afternoon, when the sun is at the peak, it looks beige (best IMO) and during night it shines like a bright silver car would.
I was extremely mesmerized by that color. Attaching a picture of the color.

P.S. - This is a picture taken from google.

I don't think so, though I am not sure.
Thanks.
