Fortuner Facelift variant details leaked.

Legender is just for styling doesn’t get 4WD. They must have taken this decision due to over the top pricing of the Legender!

Quote:
The 2021 Toyota Fortuner facelift will be powered by an updated version of the current SUV’s 2.8-liter turbocharged diesel engine which now produces 204 hp and 500 Nm of torque. It its previous iteration, the motor was good for 177 hp and 450 Nm of torque. Petrol motor will be 2.7 liter, delivering 164 bhp and 245 Nm. It will be offered with 5 speed manual as well as 6 speed automatic. Legender option will only be offered with diesel motor 2 wheel drive option. Four wheel drive option will be on offer with top 2 variants of standard trim Fortuner. The 2021 Toyota Fortuner facelift will come at a substantial price hike. As was the case with recently launched Innova MPV, whose prices were increased by about Rs 70k, expect the facelift Fortuner to cost about Rs 1 lakh more than the current Fortuner.
Colours on offer.
Quote:
A total of 9 exterior colour options are on offer with the 2021 Toyota Fortuner facelift. 8 are mono tone and 1 is dual tone, which is reserved exclusively for the Legender trim. Super White, Pearl White, Grey Metallic, Silver Metallic, Attitude Black, Phantom Brown, Av. Bronze, Sparkling Black are mono tone colours while dual tone option is Pearl White with Matte black colour.

20 inch alloy wheels . The bumpy Fortuner could just become a back-breaking one. Why don't manufacturers understand that we don't have the same roads as developed countries. More tyre cushioning is mandatory here.

Perhaps you have missed seeing earlier discussions on why the Fortuner or Innova cant get a sunroof or you were too optimistic to get disappointed. The current platform wont support a sunroof due to HVAC ducting in the roof. It will all have to be moved to the sides and the body panels changed to accommodate this which will only happen when these two cars will be updated with a new platform.

Why will there be no 4x4 option in the Legender? It seems unlikely that people will pay close to half a crore on a car which already looks somewhat dated compared to the competition, and which will be 2 wheel drive only.

India won’t be getting 20 inch alloys on any variant including the Legender . The Legender test mule spotted here gets 18 inchers of the same design as the 20 inchers sold in the international market and past TRD special editions got 18 inchers even though they were offered with 20s in the other markets.

Also there are some talks of a slight suspension re-tune to improve ride quality this time around though don’t know how big a difference it will make.

IMO it's a good thing as BOF SUVs are not meant to have low profile blingy tyres, though some Gurgaon folks ( No offense ) plonk 21 inchers on it.

Wonder why Toyota still didn't offer Sunroof as a part of refreshed edition.

Re: Rumour: Toyota Fortuner Legender to be launched in early 2021

So, the launch is very close. The vehicle looks great, not endeavor's equal but looks more sophisticated. Toyota should launch the legender with 4wd even if price is high because there will be many takers for that combo. Is the higher state of tune only for legender or all diesel variants?

Why is it that manufacturers offer captain seats in MPVs but not SUVs?

Re: Rumour: Toyota Fortuner Legender to be launched in early 2021

I dont know if this has been covered, but can someone explain what "Legender" means ?

And whats next ? Toyota Fortuner Legender Pro ? (with extra chrome !)

and then the Toyota Fortuner Legender Pro Chro-max ? ( Even more chrome and 4 free cushions )

And of course a "Black/Sports Edition" with all the chrome bits blacked out

Wow, the final blow to potential Endeavour owners who were just coming to terms that 10 speed AT with 2.0 engine may not be that bad.

It is going to completely cannibalize the already affected Endeavour sales and whoever was planning on picking a pre-owned 3.2 from Ford (only for its engine) is now going to consider the new Fortuner seriously.

Even with a relatively inferior engine (in displacement terms) Fortuner was never too slow compared to the 3.2 Endeavour. In few of our convoy drives it could easily keep up with the 3.2 Endeavour, whether it was open roads or mountain twistys.

With this new engine and its relatively light build, its going to be one step ahead of the Endeavour.

PS: Not sure whether other bhpians also share the same opinion but the 3.2 really starts gulping fuel when driven harshly but Fortuner (whether current gen or prev-gen) would happily return ~10kmpl even if it is driven really harshly.

It's confirmed, the power does get bumped by 20kW to 150 kW, the same as the Australian model. Same way, Torque should be 450/ 500 Nm for Manual/ Auto.
