Important info on HSRP for pre 01 April 2019 cars HSRP in Maharashtra.

Got HSRP installed on my car and scooter.

Navi Mumbai Turbhe fitment center is main hub.

Number plate and Sticker are manufactured here only.

Thorough professional.
Verified chassis number.
Only rivets allowed.
Thought allowed to fit plates in previous fitted holes by managing rivet doesn’t land upon embossed number.
No new holes drilled in metal body.😎

Both HSRP plates have unique laser etched serial number.

Installer has an app which tells him, which plate to install at front and back as per serial number.

If mistake happens, they can swap number in Vahan portal.

Installer messed up and later corrected on Vahan portal. It was easier since sticker printing was done there only.

3rd License Plate:
It mentions both front and back number plate serial number in F & B section.
Vehicle Registration date.
Vehicle number.

After installation:
Old plates are broken and retained by installer.
Clicks picture of broken plates, HSRP number plate and 3rd license plate.
Uploads those to Vahan portal for verification and completion of job.

Anyone who takes delivery of HSRP plate without installation and their fitment center doesn’t follow process of clicking pics is wrong.

Ask the fitment center to follow correct process.

I would advise all MH43 owners to select Turbhe fitment center.

Thanks for this update. Needed a replacement for the front number plate of my car registered in Dec 2021, since the same is bent and embossing has started fading. Checked everywhere but no option to order online. Will have to contact the dealership to figure this out now. Not sure if there is an option to order only 1 number plate, or it is compulsory to pay for a set of 2 plates. Wish there was more clarity and transparency in this regard.

This is a sticky wicket. RTO jurisdiction is decided by the place of residence. Since you are going outside MH01 jurisdiction into a completely different one- MH03, I think you will have to check with the MH01 RTO first.

When I had gone to get the HSRP installed last saturday in Thane MH04, another person had come to install HSRP plates on his MH12 reg vehicle. The site sends the plate to the selected dealer/installation site irrespective of wheter the vehicle is of the same RTO jurisdiction or not it seems.

No point updating address. Go ahead with MH01 and select a fitment center who is nearest to you.

Two options: To update mobile number.

Option 1:
Visit RTO
Fill a form + PAN + Aadhaar

Option 2:
Learner School Agent or RTO Agent
Will get the work done and you will need to share sopy copy of RC and Aadhaar.
Fee Rs 400/vehicle.

At least based on my experience, fitting an HSRP in Bombay is a relatively smooth process.

Step 1- Go to Hsrpmh.com
Step 2 - Pick your RTO. Please note this should be based on your registered address, not on the code on your car. For example, my car is MH02 XX #### but since my registered address is in the MH01 area, I had to pick MH01
Step 3 - This redirects to the site of Real Mazon, which is the vendor for Maharashtra Zone 2, which includes the MH01 RTO
Step 4 - Click Apply HSRP and then Order HSRP
Step 5 - Enter your registration number, engine number, chassis number and mobile number
Step 6 - After an OTP verification, it lets you pick a centre and date for HSRP fitment. I ordered on December 30th, and got an appointment for Jan 14.
Step 7 - on Jan 7, I got a message stating that the plates had been delivered to the vendor. I called them up, but they suggested I come on Jan 14 for fitment
Step 8 - my driver went over with the Real Mazon receipt and got the plates fitted. I received an SMS confirming plates have been fitted and details uploaded on Vahan.

As smooth as it gets.

This is good to know. I’ve gotten till Step 6. My date is set for 22 Jan. My centre is Lower Parel, which fortuitously is quite close to my office.

I had taken appointment for 11-Jan-25 at 9am at Runwal Greens, Mulund (MH-03 done by Real Mazon). The fitment centre is not at Runwal Greens but is actually at the basement of the BMC Pay & Park facility with no directional signboard. I had to call up the phone number provided to get the direction.
Once I gave the confirmation email printout, they fished out the number plates which was already delivered 2 days back.
There were 2 cars ahead of me. However, the process is smooth and there are 5-6 guys working efficiently. They rivet at the exact same position of the old number plate and hence new holes are not drilled on the car body.
They sold me 2 number plate brackets for Rs.250/- since that keeps the plate straight as per them. I reluctantly agreed since it looked good.
The 3rd number plate is stuck on the windshield and then a coloured sticker is stuck below it (orange for diesel). The whole process takes 10-15 minutes.

It's not a license plate, rather a windshield sticker which mentions the registration date of the vehicle along with the unique ID numbers of front and rear number plates.

I got my new HSRP plates (both MH12) installed few days back. But I didn't tell nor did the fitters keep the old plates with them. They gave it to me. Now I am unsure about how best to dispose off the old number plates? Do I sell them to the local scrap dealer?
