The state of Maharashtra had invited tenders for HSRP fitment on old vehicles multiple times now over the past few years, but this has proven to be a dud every time!

Karnataka status is also same as you mentioned for Maharashtra. But cops are not in sync with Govt plan. Not all cops are such ignorant though.

Here in West Bengal there are still a lot of cars that are running around without new HSRP plates.There are even some instances where new car owners refuses to fix HSRP plates.
Some are prosecuted when caught but most of them roam around the city without any issue.

In Pune I see so many vehicles without HSRP. Especially the guntha mantri who have the fancy number plates, dark tints and yet arent stopped by the cops. A regular citizen gets penalised for the smallest of error but not these neo privileged class.

Recently bought a used bike for my younger brother which didn't have an HSRP. Now planning to get them ordered in my city and get them fixed when I go to his place. But I have a doubt, can we order other states' number plates? For example, The bike is registered in Delhi, but can we order and get the number plates delivered in Lucknow?

I just got the HSRP plates installed on my car which is a pre 2019 model. Is there any app or website where I can check the authenticity of the plates? I just wanted to confirm if the car's data is correct. Car is registered in Maharahstra.

There is a dealer in Mumbai who is RTO authorized and doing it. Some of the car dealers are also doing it.

He is only for Maharashtra RTOs. Please check with your dealer as they are supposed to do it. Or ask him for an alternate dealer or number plate guy who is authorized by RTO.

I saw this poster at a couple of auto accessories shops in Bangalore. The guys claim they can get HSRP for older (pre-2019) vehicles too. All they need is RC copy and charge is around 1500. Has anyone got experience with them? I know Orbiz makes plates but their website doesn't talk about HSRP and orbiz hsrp site doesn't seem to be for retail customers.

I am happy to share that I got HSRP for my 2014 Verna, KA 51 registration. The plates have serial numbers etched and came with the windshield sticker and rivets. I ordered through Auto Style Koramangala and received it in a couple of days.

This news in a Marathi newspaper came as a shock. It says, including older vehicles, if you don't have HSRP you'll be fined Rs 5k to 10k from tomorrow. It doesn't specifically name the states.

For Bangalore folks, will recommend this shop in HSR layout. Very prompt to procure the plates along with windshield sticker. Fitting was done in a jiffy. Charged 1200 for the plates and 500 for the plastic frame from Orbiz.

Called the newspaper office to check the source. The person insisted that the news is based on MORTH notification and it is correct, just that he said he can't say whether it will be implemented immediately.
