Finally Maruti has come to terms with the market and is launching new SUVs. Would be interesting to see how the market perceives Maruti as a brand when they go for Premium SUVs.

Suzuki reveals its FULL Hybrid for the upcoming Vitara and S Cross (Global Models).

The System is likely to be replicated in its upcoming India launches too.

Completely against the expectations, the technology was developed entirely by Suzuki itself and the brand did not have to shop in Toyota's warehouse.

The "Full Hybrid" system combines an atmospheric 1.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine, which develops a maximum power of 102 hp,and an additional electric motor that adds an extra 33 hp. Together, the hybrid system offers performance with a total maximum power of 115 hp, with an operation in which the power of the electric motor is transmitted directly to the wheels, while that of the combustion engine does so through a new six-speed manual gearbox (Auto Gear Shift) .

And, beware because, while hybrids bet on an automatic transmission of type CVT, in the case of Suzuki, the bet is very different: the brand has relied on a manual gearbox that they have "robotized". A concept that does not mean an automation,since there is not. Its operation is completely manual, geared the different speeds, but the integrated system -baptized as "Auto Gear Shift"- what it does is soften the gears as if there were no transmission between them, without losses in the torque thanks to a filling of energy from the electric motor.

Suzuki has unveiled these specifications, which it says can work in conjunction with the "ALLGRIP SELECT" all-wheel drive system, using a selector knob to select the appropriate driving mode, which opens up the range of possible configurations.


The System will be detailed next week as it premiers in its Vitara.

Maruti Suzuki's SUV plans:

The all new Brezza is likely to be launched at the end of this month, followed by the mid-size SUV to rival the Creta and the small crossover Baleno Cross (codenamed YTB), which is likely to be introduced at the Auto Expo early 2023. The Jimny (called YWD internally) is likely to come later.

Eager to see XL6 type vehicle with strong hybrid powertrain as compact SUVs loose boot space due to battery. Since there is ample space in XL6/MUVs, any battery addition will not lead to a substantial reduction in space. Just my assumption and wish.

The carmaker is also said to be working on a premium, three-row SUV that will be the brand’s flagship model in the coming years. There is little information on this mystery SUV, but industry sources speculate that it is a Hyundai Alcazar rival that could be based on the Ertiga’s flexible platform.

Brezza, Vitara help Maruti Suzuki gain more space in SUV market. Plans to regain its 50% market share.

It has already delivered about 45,000 units of the Brezza. Deliveries are yet to start for the Grand Vitara. Also, most of the bookings are for higher-end variants. That means the average selling price per vehicle, and the margins too, for the Suzuki Motor unit are set to increase. Its revenue market share is also set to expand as a result.

the new Brezza and the midsize Vitara are likely to have a blended average price of nearly ₹15 lakh a unit thanks to a large share of booking at the top variant of the Vitara.

This translates to an outstanding order book of more than ₹25,000 crore, conservatively for new-generation SUVs alone.This is about a quarter of the company's estimated revenue for this fiscal year

Strong demand for the new models is expected to double Maruti Suzuki's annual SUV sales to about 300,000 units.

Sources (ACI) say new Baleno cross is just 3 months away from delivery, yet almost no updates on the same! Are they going to prioritise Jimny instead?
