I used to fill around 30 litres of Petrol per month (around 2200) in my bike as it was my only mode of commute. Now that I drive a EcoSport too, the fuel expense has gone down for the bike. The EcoSport gulps about 70L of Diesel per month and the bike takes about 15L per month, so totally I spend somewhere around 6000 per month.

Approx 500 Kms per month :-> 38 L per month :-> Rs 2400 per month
Avg Mileage: 13.5 KMPL

Total expense per month: Rs 3400 per month

I drive an SX4 ZXI but only on weekends with family. If I am going out on long drives, it needs two tank fulls which would be around 7.5k. If not going out, then there is not much expense may be around 1k per month.
I also ride a Honda CBR, mostly used for kid's school drops around 6 km altogether. The fuel expense for it would be around 500 a month max.

I walk to office these days so no recuring expense there

In all actual fuel expense should not cross 2000 a month.

I think this debate is fairly redundant for anyone living in a metro city who uses a car as a primary means of transportation. Given current fuel prices and the severe congestion we face daily, it is pretty obvious that petrol costs are over 10k a month. My Hexa alone guzzles over Rs3500 worth of diesel in every tankful, and that lasts for around 500km. That's like 7-10 days tops in Delhi NCR. And we all have multiple cars here.

From the same stable, My Nexon - is very fuel efficient at about 18 KMPL in City, (T2T) and I spend 3,500 on Diesel, per month.

E2O: 450km/Month (city) ~40units (Kwh) electricity (~ Rs.300/month)
Zen Estilo: 500km/month (City) ~38Ltrs petrol (~3,000/month)
Innova: 600km/month average. ~55ltrs diesel (~3,500/month)

We have 1 car, 1 bike and 1 scooter at home :-

Tata Nano - ₹2000 every month, monthly running is between 400-500 kms every month. Returns an average of 15 kmpl with AC

RE Classic 350 - ₹700 every month, monthly running is about 400 kms. Returns an average of 38 kmpl

Hero Maestro - ₹300 per month, since it is used for only short grocery runs

I am the sole user of all the vehicles, hence the running is very low.

I drive a Vento - Diesel for about 70kms every day from Home(Yelahanka)->Office(Whitefield). Spend close to 9-10K on fuel alone.

Dang my Fuel Expenses are way above average :(

My office is in the same complex as my house, even then I manage to do a high mileage owing to my house located atleast 10kms from the city. My house being on the highway also ensures that even for small grocery runs, I manage close to 7-10 kms each time.

Have got 3 cars:
Rapid For School Runs and city runabouts - Chauffer Driven around 13kmpl
Around 70kms/day.

Creta Diesel A/T for Social Commitments: Mostly Self Driven: 11kmpl, one tankful per month: 50 liters: 500kms/month

Skoda VRS Petrol: Self Driven: One tankful per month: 50 litres.

All in all I manage close to 100kms/day for all my cars, cost ranging 19,000 - 21,000 per month.

The CT100 does a 1500 km per month.
Ecosport about 650 km, mostly long drives, averaged over the year.
Omni does farm duties and about 700 km per month.

At current fuel costs, running cost is about (1300+2300+ 3000) = 6600, assuming FE of 70, 20 and 17 respectively, mainly sub-urban and rural conditions.

Ecosport 2500km/month -> 156 ltrs -> 10920 (average cost assumed to be 70rs per litre)
Verna -> 2500km/ month:
Pre Cng kit installation it gave around 8kmpl mileage in NCR leading to a fuel bill of 20k +.
Post CNG kit installation its giving 16kmpg in NCR and now the fuel expense is around 7k. Trust me, CNG Rocks !!!
