Jeep Grand Cherokee removed from Indian website

The Jeep Grand Cherokee is no longer listed on the brand's Indian website. The SUV was first launched in India back in 2016. It was imported as completely built unit (CBU).

The Grand Cherokee was offered in 3 trims - Limited, Summit, and the SRT. The former two were powered by a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine rated at 240 BHP and 570 Nm while the SRT was equipped with a 6.4-litre Hemi V8 petrol engine churning out 470 BHP and 624 Nm. In 2017, the Summit trim was offered with a 3.6-litre, Pentastar V6 petrol engine rated at 286 BHP and 347 Nm.

Jeep's current line-up includes the Compass, Compass Trailhawk and the new Wrangler. The next-generation Grand Cherokee is expected to debut in 2021 with petrol, diesel and hybrid powertrain options.

Thanks to Sundar for sending this information in. Heartfelt gratitude for sharing it with other enthusiasts via this Team-BHP page!

Re: Jeep Grand Cherokee removed from Indian website

So its about time Jeep decides to bring the newer Grand Cherokee in India via CKD/local manufacturing and surprise everybody, as well as show their commitment to Indian market.

Oh wait I shouldn't be dreaming too much perhaps. The Wrangler now becomes Jeep's 'most premium' halo product in India costing 70 lacs on road.

Re: Jeep Grand Cherokee removed from Indian website

Jeep Grand Cherokee is an extremely competent vehicle, off roading, towing, you name it, it does with ease. It is in the league of Land Cruiser and Ranger Rover. I've become an instant fan of Grand Cherokee after watching goonzquad's .

Also checkout
channel, he uses a Grand Cherokee

I really wish if Jeep manufactures the new Grand Cherokee in India instead of CBUs, so that it could be more affordable to enthusiasts.
