Re: Skoda launches SuperCare, 6 year / 1,50,000 km extended warranty

I am ruminating on the question of whether I should go get the extended warranty for my Rapid TDI DSG 2018 model. The price quoted to my dad is INR 30700/- and we both are not sure whether this makes sense.

Why are we considering to get the warranty?
  • Known VW DSG woes
  • Peace of mind - sort of

Why are we not considering to get the warranty?
  • Not sure if this warranty would cover DSG
  • Dealer gave weird reasons to get it - fuel quality impacting some part which may cost INR 1.5 L, hence makes sense etc
  • The list of excluded items seems longer than included items; will verify again though

So, to all the other Rapid TDI DSG owners on the forum, have you folks put your money down for the extended warranty?

Any pointers would help a lot in the decision making.

PS: the Rapid lives in Nagpur, and my dad is not very fond of the local Skoda Dealer.

Re: Skoda launches SuperCare, 6 year / 1,50,000 km extended warranty

Hello all, I have paid for Extended warranty for my Skoda Rapid till 1.5 Lakh kilometres. Can someone share me the details of parts which are covered under warranty? I couldn't find it on the internet and my dealer is giving random excuses. I would like to keep the parts list so as to not get conflicted with the ASS during future warranty claims

Re: Skoda launches SuperCare, 6 year / 1,50,000 km extended warranty

Hi All,
Now is the time, I have to take the decision of whether to go for Skoda's Extended Warranty Program or not. This is the fourth year running for my Rapid TDI 1.5 and I have an option to extend it by 2 more years. The list of things covered shared by the ASC (PPS) looks superficial.
"Is it really worth it?" is the question.
I have not been able to upgrade the headlamps which are 55/60w h4 halogen bulbs (my car does not have projector lamps) just because the of this warranty. The poor head lamps are not sufficient and I want to upgrade them to 100/90w. I asked the ASC itself to do the job, but they rejected saying that the warranty will lapse.
Extended warranty for next two years would mean no upgrades for two more years and living with the same poor headlamps.
At the same time, I understand that the warranty is peace of mind; who knows what would break down in the near future. Finally, I think I'll have to go with this but still, I request you to pour in your suggestions.
