Re: Citroen Berlingo XL MPV spied in India

Going against the tide here.
Love French vans. Apart from their quirky looks, they are just versatile ,practical, and comfy for a van.

But, Citroen better launch their crossovers here and establish themselves first, before thinking of bringing in the sedans, MPVs and LAVs.

Actually it isn't similar at all. I have seen the Berlingo up close countless times in 2 different model years/generations. Its a bread & butter van in most of the EU, also used for businesses / delivery with some customization. The dimensions in all aspects look very different in person. It is taller than the Lodgy. This picture gives an impression of similarity with the Lodgy because its an MPV afterall & there is nothing else for "relative comparison" in the image to tell about proportions.

Re: Citroen Berlingo XL MPV spied in India

Why bother - Citroen / Peugeot ?
When you have seen a very similar product perform miserably, what makes you think a relatively unknown Brand with a bad looking product would perform well? And is it really the very first product you should launch in Indian Market? If at all you want to launch something in India, it has to be a butch SUV!
They already have some:
C3 Aircross : https://www.citroen.co.uk/new-cars-a...3-aircross-suv
and
C5 Aircross : https://www.citroen.co.uk/new-cars-a...5-aircross-suv

Re: Citroen Berlingo XL MPV spied in India

Only way for this to succeed is to sell it to the fleet market. Most private owners would opt for something like Ertiga/Innova.

Re: Citroen Berlingo XL MPV spied in India

Boxy design, small wheels, not so potent engine, relatively unknown brand the list of worries is big. Even if they price it around Triber, with an uninspiring presence and no USP (as it seems so based on press), its going to be cooked up based on tested and proven receipe for DoA product.

This may be a decoy.
This can be a test mule testing the powertrain for PSA's upcoming sub 4m SUV, (C-21), for India.

Good catch. Going slightly off topic.
Why do I see a camouflaged Thar in the background? What's cooking Mahindra?

Re: Citroen Berlingo XL MPV spied in India

I think they will raise ground clearance of this vehicle at time of launch. Test driver (s) inputs & local considerations are the norm.

Looks bit longer than anything in class. Lengh-wise can be compared to Kia Carnival IMO.

Lengthwise it is similar to an Innova. There are two versions of the Berlingo, this one looks like the longer one at 4750mm. An Innova in comparison is 4735mm.

Re: Citroen Berlingo XL MPV spied in India

Looks interesting, Former Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson had reviewed Berlingo probably a decade or two back. Basics of the car should still remain same. Take a look at it. I am quite sure the review had to be taken with a pinch of salt as it was mostly sarcastic
