According to my friend, it's too hush internally also and not much information is available. I doubt if a launch can happen without the senior staff knowing about it unless it's a CBU to start with. He works in the paint department and no work related to Hilux is happening currently.

Like I mentioned in my post, ever since the start of the pandemic, Toyota India has become very hushed about new products they are going to launch.

IMHO, if no work has started as of yet, then it means it’s going to be a CBU for sure. Otherwise at least some parts, components or assembly line modification would have been carried out to accommodate the Hilux, if they were to assemble cars and launch by Jan End.

And my price estimate is roughly between 30 and 40 Lakh OTR. Sales at this price range are going to very limited, but being a CBU if Toyota prices it over the Fortuner then there is absolutely no reason to even consider the Hilux, unless someone is crazy about it’s legacy.

Had called them a while back on when the new V-Cross would be available for a test drive.
They reverted a couple of months later, calling me during working hours, and never called back when I asked them to contact me after work.

Cool Atlast a proper Toyota launch after many years. Looks like it is the worst case scenario I mentioned a few pages before.

I feel rather than Toyota India offering such gaudy chrome kits / body claddings as accessories on the Hilux, they should offer the real Hilux-worthy accessories like available in the Australian market!

I am just glad Toyota is finally getting a "Toyota" product to India. Vehicles such as this, the RAV4 can carve out a nice niche for themselves, considering how much the Innova sells even though it is an expensive machine.
Interestingly, if you run the registration number, portals say its registered as a Fortuner.
