But I'm doubtful of the authenticity of this data as there are a lot of spelling mistakes and it shows that the automatic is only available with the lower HTK+ trim among the tech line variants which is stupid.
The authenticity of these figures (at least boot space) is somewhat visible now, based on the leaked brochure pictures in this post, (A Close Look : Kia Sonet)here. Unable to see a 211mm ground clearance mentioned anywhere (text is also not readable everywhere, in that image).

Yep, this is great, that the 1.5 VGT Diesel automatic comes with a 115bhp engine variant.

Yes, it is a 1.5 VGT, as per the brochure pictures shared in the (A Close Look : Kia Sonet)post.

My bad, I thought that GTX+ was only for the turbo petrol

Re: A Close Look : Kia Sonet

From the brochure, what I can make out is,
6 airbag are there only in Gt variant.
There is no mention of clutchless IMT which is recently launched in venue turbo petrol
There is only one Gt line variant which I find difficult to digest

Re: A Close Look : Kia Sonet

Variants are officially revealed now.

Diesel auto is coming with 1.5 CRDi VGT in 115HP guise. Kia's positioning has been really excellent with so many options made available. The worry is the pricing for the GTX+ variant. It might significantly overlap with Seltos/Creta.

Re: A Close Look : Kia Sonet

It looks like 1.0 turbo petrol is offered only with an iMT, standard MT with clutch is not available . I was planning to go with 1.0 MT, now sadly I'll have to consider either Venue or the Creta/Seltos.

Re: A Close Look : Kia Sonet

I'd like to know (if anyone has an idea) if the 1.2l petrol is worth going for. The turbo is better, but does not have a manual option. It will be helpful if Kia reveals the prices too... then the decision making (even choosing between Sonet and the Venue) will atleast be easier. Kia could definitely use some new nomenclature for the variant names though

The same engine is used in Grand i10. Will feel quite slow on the highways and its not exactly fuel efficient either. For simple city use its decent though and very refined.

A Close Look : Kia Sonet-kia-sonet-2-.jpg

Days ago I posted about how the Kia Sonet's 'Wild Design' side profile actually resembles the Volvo XC40.

Here's another observation by another page!
(Credits to the creators)

At this point of time, the Sonet just feels like a mix of designs of various cars!

Anyone else who feels the same??

P.S.- I hope I'm not breaching the rules of the forum by posting these.

Re: A Close Look : Kia Sonet

392 litre boot space is massive for the segment. The old Creta had around 400 litres for reference, which was quite good. The kind of features it is offering is even absent on some 20 lakh+ cars.
Hope they dont keep the suspension too firm like they did on seltos. Anything like the venue setup will be good enough.
Placement and looks of ac vents wont be a deal breaker at all, there is so much on offer, one can simply ignore this.
Only sore point is that the cooled glove box feature is mising which is quite useful on longer journeys.
If priced well, i can't find any reason for not buying it while going for compact suvs/crossover.
One important point one must remember while making the choice is after sales network of Kia is still not that wide spread. You might not get a service centre in remote locations, which Maruti, Hyundai, Ford, Mahindra and Tata offers.

Re: A Close Look : Kia Sonet

Spotted a test Sonet in Bangalore today. It appears that this car was camouflaged till recently.

Initial observation - Looks big (doesn't appear to be a sub 4 meter)
Spacious seating- unfortunately couldn't click a pic of interiors. There were 2 hefty dudes sitting in the back with space to spare.

Thank you for posting these. To be honest (at least from the picture) it doesn't have the road presence of a Ecosport, Nexon or even the Brezza. Certainly looks like sub-4m to me.

+1. In fact it looks close to red Ignis size from those photos.
