The looks seem a bit polarizing - the boxy design language is good but I am not a fan of the HR-V. Something seems way off here. The front looks quite ugly and it somehow does not look proportionate. In comparison, the new BR-V that was released in Indonesia seems more balanced and "fuller". I still think that the BR-V was a great looking vehicle. It is a shame they shut its production here.

Priced from RM 114,800 to RM 140,800( ~ INR 25.3 lakhs), cheaper than Toyota Corolla Cross
3 engines offered, all 1.5L – NA, turbocharged, hybrid
Sensing offered as a standard feature, Lane-watch only for V and RS variants

HR-V 1.5 S: RM 114,800
HR-V 1.5 E: RM 129,800
HR-V 1.5 V: RM 134,800
HR-V 1.5 RS: RM 140,800

The three engine options for the 4 variants are as below:

S variant – 1.5-litre naturally aspirated i-VTEC, 121 PS / 145 Nm
E variant – 1.5-litre VTEC Turbo, 181 PS / 240 Nm
V variant – 1.5-litre VTEC Turbo, 181 PS / 240 Nm

I visited Crystal Honda today and took a test drive of City Hybrid as I am planning to upgrade my Corolla next year. I didn't feel much difference in city hybrid compared to my Corolla Altis except for newer interior and phenomenal F.E. figures, when i told this to SA and that i am more inclined towards XUV700 as i want to explore D segment SUV, he asked me to wait till December this year.

Overall he revealed new information about Honda's product line up:
1. WRV and Jazz will be discontinued by end of this year. jazz MT production has already been stopped and they are clearing the current order book.

2. A new SUV will be launched by Nov -Dec 2022(he was urging me to wait for it before making the buy). It will be in the C2 segments SUV ( referred to it as Creta rival) not sure if HRV or CRV but they are told it's named as XRV ( I am sure it's a code name).

I feel that it would be HRV with hybrid version as the Toyota and Suzuki has already jumped into that segment but I feel Honda will be a late to this party if they wait anymore.

Any updates on this launch in India ? I haven't come across any scoops/ sightings of test vehicles. Some articles say that a Honda SUV is expected after mid-2023 or around Deepawali 2023.

They are still "considering" this for our market (no pun intended). The previous Honda management hasn't taken India seriously. Hopefully the new one delivers.

Today I messaged a dealer to check on City facelift launch date and also asked about new SUV launches. To my surprise he said that planning to launch HRV in March 2023! He also said bookings will start in January!

I am eagerly waiting to book the HRV in case it launches, else will have to do with the facelifted City!
