Rumour: Audi Q2 India launch in September 2020

Why would I put close to 50 lacs on Q2, when I have following better models accessible at this price point

XC40, C class, 3 series, 2 series (expensive still miles ahead of q2), X1 and Jag XE.

Plus, GLA and A class are coming soon with latest global models which will be class apart.

I do not know what Audi folks were smoking while pricing this but customer should surely be smoking something much better to buy this at this price point

This would probably remain as a perfect example of dead on arrival for years to come

Re: Rumour: Audi Q2 India launch in September 2020

The price is so unrealistic and this not even a 2020 facelift model (See European Audi sites) !!

I think they are just trying to sell some stock RH cars from Ingolstadt in a form of CBU.

Now the T-Roc pricing looks very reasonable to me.

The top end technology variant is retailing close to 56L on road in Pune.
This is super insane pricing on part of Audi. I am now really tempted to have another look at the T-Roc or the Karoq!

Re: Rumour: Audi Q2 India launch in September 2020

The recent price announcements from BMW and Audi have been rather disappointing. While these cars will be eventually discounted, it appears that manufacturers are buffering in the discounts into the price and then discounting them to appeal to the Indian mindset that seeks satisfaction in a getting a 'good deal'.

The Q2 technology comes on road at nearly 60L in Chennai while the A6 premium plus starts at 65L before discounts!

Was hoping to pick up a decent spec premium entry sedan between the gran coupe, a class or A3 by next year but that hope is evaporating by the day as the head is winning over the heart.

Re: Rumour: Audi Q2 India launch in September 2020

Just last year, a friend of mine picked up a Q3 (technology edition, I think, whatever that means) for about 32-33 Lakhs OTR. How on earth does Audi think the Q2 justifies almost 50L OTR? That's insane by any metric. It makes the 2 series well priced, and the 3 series is actually cheaper in some trims. This is just simply a barmy decision.

Expect the usual Audi discounts shortly. What has such a hallowed brand come to. It blows the mind.

Peace of Mind Package should be, please don't buy Q2.

Is this a German conspiracy? German Auto companies have decided that they do not want Indians to buy their products?

Whatever they are snorting is really strong stuff. more like "Audi in Wonderland".

Really really really disappointing pricing. For a model which is already ageing in the international market.

And whats with so many variants? I have not even bothered to go check the variant wise differences.

Trims are called Advanced line and Design line?
Looks like they took inspiration from MG's variant lineup for the names.

Price is off by tens of lakhs, especially considering the Karoq and T-Roc. This is the second comedy today by VW India after those Polo/Vento red and white special variants.

Looks like Gurpratap Boparai(Skoda) is the only sensible executive left in VW India.

Re: Rumour: Audi Q2 India launch in September 2020

Its destined to fail, a horribly overpriced discontinued version being dumped at dealerships. What remains to be seen is once fat discounts of 6-7 lakh come in, will anyone even buy those?

This is not what the dealers want at this time. Audi dealers are struggling for sustained operations, where are the cars like Q3, Q5 and Q7 gone?

They have just hit right at the design ballpark but not the right way in converting the same in sales.

And their next launch is the S5 sportback. Who's gonna buy that?

Now with the pricing, Audi will most likely lose all 100 bookings in the next 10 days.

Audi shouldn't have launched this honestly. It's an insult to both customers and dealers and that too in the middle of big economic crisis.

Launching the A4 with that 2.0 TSI would've done wonders for Audi instead.

Kia Seltos vs Audi Q2:

For 50 lakhs you get:

Re: Rumour: Audi Q2 India launch in September 2020

Audi was once the technology car maker pushing that forward, now they are so far behind the competition, its sad. I wish they brought their performance offerrings to India like the RSQ3 which has the potential to do really well as a practical, good looking, fast car/SUV if priced around 60-70L.

But these lame launches are doing nothing to attract the knowledgeable buyer.

Competition is good for the consumer, right now it seems like a two horse race in the premium segment.

Re: Rumour: Audi Q2 India launch in September 2020

I got an offer for Q3 top end 38L all included even before I started negotiations (massive discount) 2 years or so ago, has Audi lost their mind? This Q2 will exceed 40L on road.

Granted this will come with discounts too, nothing short of 10L off, is justifiable for a car of this size, even then I wont touch it, maybe it'll do for a few looking at the Countryman or Cooper 4 door.

Here are my ideal rates for the big 3, given the current circumstances and competition, all on-road :

Entry SUV - 30L on-road

Mid size SUV - 50L on-road

Large SUV - 75L on-road

Luxury SUV - 1 Cr on-road

Re: Rumour: Audi Q2 India launch in September 2020

Buying a Karoq last month - I thought I was getting ripped off for 32.00 lakhs OTR Bangalore. Got good discount and ended up getting 29.7 lakh OTR. Somehow I feel smug knowing that I am not going to get ripped off like the poor Audi Q2 buyers.

Sad pricing and just tells us the state of the affairs for the German brands.
