To me, both the exteriors and interiors feel very last-gen Audi. The A6 has got better interiors, and the Q7 looks far more modern.

Not sure of the reception the Q5 will get unless they price it really well. Which again seems far fetched given their recent Q2/A4 pricing. Audis sell on discounts. Period. Think the company also understands that consumers go for an Audi only on the basis of discount offers, and so they launch with a high sticker price.

This is too little, too late... the segment has moved forward and so has other models in Audi lineup.

Completely agree - looks very dated especially the interiors. BMW, GLC and XC60 is far ahead in the game. Audi will also lose the (rapidly shrinking) Diesel enthusiasts too.

Even the GLC and X3 interiors are pretty dated now! The entire segment needs the next generation switch except maybe the XC60. More than dated the Q5’s interior looks B-L-A-N-D!

And once discounts kick in which will be much more than what Mercedes-Benz or BMW offer, the true value of the Q5 will shine through then!

In terms of Petrol engines, Mercedes-Benz has been stingy and offered the detuned 200 (190hp tune) engine for the GLC without the 4Matic system when at launch they had the 300 (255hp tune) + 4Matic. So Audi, BMW and even Volvo are one up on Mercedes-Benz in terms of petrol engines. And now Mercedes-Benz have reduced the discounts by a huge margin! So if Audi can offer larger discounts after a few months, it can sell well like the A4.

The interior of the Q5 may look bland but the quality of materials used and fit-finish of the interior is much better than its BMW and Mercedes counterparts. The XC60 interiors finished in genuine Nappa Leather (unlike the competition) are on another level though.

I was just thinking that! Looks like an MG in those spy shots without the badge. Audi is losing its distinctive identity due to Chinese copycats.
