re: Datsun Redi-GO facelift, now launched at Rs 2.83 lakhs

Videos available in YouTube for variants below the top of the line:

The interiors appear to have been given a proper makeover. The ungainly exposed metal bits on the doors are no longer there.

EDIT -
The facelifted Redi-Go is live on DATSUN website:

https://www.datsun.co.in/vehicles/ne...s/redi-go.html

Brochure also available to download

re: Datsun Redi-GO facelift, now launched at Rs 2.83 lakhs

The Brochure of the new Redi-GO is out on their website (here - https://www-asia.datsun-cdn.net/cont...un-Redi-GO.pdf)

Few observations:
1. Driver Airbag is standard and Passenger airbag is only available in the T(O) variant.
2. AMT is available only in the 1L T(O) variant.
3. While Rear Parking Sensors are standard, the Rear Parking Camera also is only available in the T(O) variant.
4. The ground clearance has increased by 2mm to 187mm in the new model.
5. The T model has a 2 DIN Audio System with AUX, USB, AM/FM Radio and Bluetooth Connectivity with 2 Front Speakers.
6. The T(O) model has the 8" Touchscreen Audio System with Android Auto, Apple Car Play, Voice Recognition, Rear View Camera, AM/FM/iPOD/Bluetooth Connectivity still with 2 Speakers in the Front
7. The Boot Space is a measly 222L and 514L with the Rear Bench Seat Folded away.
8. The Mileage Figures are 20.71KMPL for the 0.8L Petrol model, 21.7L KMPL for the 1L Petrol model and 22KMPL for the 1L AMT Petrol model.
9. The L-Shaped LED DRLs and LED Front Fog Lamps are both available only on the 1L T(O) model and not even on the T model.
10. The LED Rear Combination Lamp is also available only on the top of the line T(O) model. Maybe the lower models will have the old halogen setup from the old model.

Attaching a screenshot of the price-list as well. I believe that these are the new introductory Prices!!

In the accessories page, strangely there is a Engine Under Cover available for the new Redi-GO. I have been looking for such a thing for my Triber, but still nothing available in the Renault Genuine Accessories section.

I think this is a very good pricing and a very good alternative for Alto. (In all aspects with lot of value adds ). Let's see how the market takes this.

Sadly they're not alloys, but Alloy look alike Wheel Covers. See the attached image from the Accessories section below:

Seems like Datsun has taken a leaf out of Renault's book in designing alloy looking wheel covers to compliment their budget offerings. It's a regular blackened Steel Wheel Rim with an Alloy looking Cover, like in the Triber.

Datsun already answered your question in the images that were out earlier when the old model was compared with the new one here:

IMO it’s better they bring the EV portfolio with the Nissan badge and keep Datsun for the mass market.

Don't think they announced phasing out of India. It was other South East Asia markets. The Redigo/Go plus are in good numbers in small cities.

As for the alloy styled wheel covers, I wish the other brands pick up on it. Hyundai/Kia Creta/Seltos base models would look less like taxi versions with it. I know Creta does it with the S variant now.

The grill looks like Hitler's moustache tbh. Looks weird as heck obnoxious is how I too would describe it.

In one of the many reviews a host showed that the AC vents move sideways on their own at full or 1 speed lesser blower speed. While I agree that at this price point it's ok but that kind of reduced my interest in it by a bit.

Did the folks at Nissan not know what the letter L stands for when you hold your fngers shaped like it over your forehead?

Re: Datsun Redi-GO facelift, now launched at Rs 2.83 lakhs

Would this car be a contender if one has to look for a "beginner" car for the occasional 5km ride in the city environs? Its overall footprint is really attractive and seems adequately equipped for the price.
