Rattles all the time and from different places. Sunroof, door panels, rear trunk panels, dash - and now my STEERING (yes, you read that right).
They go away for a while after servicing, but always pop back up to say hi from time to time. Roads that I drive on are okayish, and I am not heavy footed on my acceleration either.

On a side note, do any other Safari/Harrier owners have issue of wind noise post 80 kmph? Service center told me that the car is designed for no wind noise below 80 kmph and they can't do anything when it goes past it.
I own a 2023 Safari XZA+ Adventure. 16000 km in about 17 months. Regarding the wind noise I just posted in another thread that it's a design issue and all Safaris and Harriers have it. Mine does for sure at highway speeds and is a bit of letdown at that price point. Bigger let down - TAMO has not done anything since launch to fix this. This was mentioned in the 2021 review also IIRC.

Coming to the rattles, at 16000 km most of which has been on good roads, am not too impressed. I can blame this to some extent on the harsh and irregular concrete roads, and on the rumble strips which are the favorite feature of roads department in Pune these days. Oh boy, those things really hurt. While rattles are not a lot presently, one can hear squeaky noises from different corners. Quality of trims and fitting could have been better. Specially around the floating screen bezels and other similar trims. One can feel the squeak in stationary car if one touches/pushes the touch screen and bezels/ Quality is not par for the price.

Re: Is your car rattle-free?

Rattles in the 3 cars that we own:

1. Abarth Punto: 8 years old, clocked around 47k KMs. It's my daily driver as well as use it for highway drives. Has one rattle from left side of dashboard which neither me nor the service center has been able to locate and resolve. There is an occasional rattle from somewhere near the driver side dashboard also, but its minor. Apart from this, it has been relatively rattle free.

2. XUV 5OO AWD: 6 years old, clocked 50k KMs. It's a big car, full of rattles from many sources. Cannot pinpoint any one location. It has seen mainly highway drives and on many bad surfaces also. I have noticed that the rattles reduce when the car is loaded with passengers and luggage.

3. Honda Amaze CVT: 2 years old, clocked 15k KMs. Really surprised that a car which has seen only city drives on mostly smooth roads has developed a bad dashboard rattle. Amongst all three cars, this rattle is the only one which irritates and bothers me. If someone has an idea about resolving it, please help!

Have you noticed if the squeaks increase when there are high temperatures? It happens with my car, and is quite bothersome in Mumbai summers. It is mostly because of material expanding due to high heat which ultimately affects the tolerances of mating parts.
Really bad validation tests at their end.

Re: Is your car rattle-free?

Brezza has been rattle free, to a great degree even after almost a decade.

But, theres this irritating, annoying keech sound that the driver's seat makes whenever the car hits even a small bump. I had taken it to Pratham multiple times, they have changed washers, replaced inner padding, greased the hinges, but stays only for a month and back to the keech sound .

Re: Is your car rattle-free?

Could be other way round as I am experiencing this coinciding with winters and Pune has been reasonably cold this season. If what you say about temperature is to be considered, colder environment will also have a similar effect. Will keep that in mind for next few days and will observe.

But yes, they (Tamo) have a long way to go. If you have an eye for perfection and smallest of noises bother you, then this is not your cup of tea.

Re: Is your car rattle-free?

2023 Maruti Jimny Zeta MT:
After 13 months and 14,500 kms my Jimny is still rattle free. Been on several tours and trail drives. Not babied at all. Fingers crossed.

Tata Nano Gen-X MY2016
My other car which is rattle free after 9 years of ownership is my Gen-X Nano. Nothing squeaks or has fallen apart - till now.

Tata Nexon Gen-1 MY2019 MT Petrol
Well screwed together car. No rattles till date. The front left passenger seat was squeaking a bit. A burst of WD-40 sorted out the squeaky recline hinge.

Maruti Van MY1987
Maruti Van(MY1987, now sold): nothing rattled till the time of selling it off after 6 years of ownership. I guess it was so barebones there was nothing in it to cause a rattle!

Maruti Swift Gen-1 G13B MY2005 (now sold)
Gen-1 Swift(now sold): rattled like a castanet from 2000 kms onwards. Spent half my salary stuffing "K-foam" and insulators to diminish the various rattles, but in vain. Dashboard, door trims, electric window mechanism, rear hatch trim, rear seat backrest, seat belt anchorages, floor console, glove box lid: You name it and you got a dedicated rattle for it. It was a moving jukebox on wheels

Re: Is your car rattle-free?

Hyundai Elantra 2014 (75k km) = Rattle free (front center armrest creaks on pressure a little bit)

Jeep compass 2018 (35k km) = Rattles a LOT. Nowadays, after several rounds of getting it fixed during servicing, it only rattles on bad roads. On good smooth roads it's almost rattle free.

Audi A4 2024 (5k km) = Rattle free

BTW, can anyone share their experience with mahindras ? I am thinking of getting the BE6E and rattling in the jeep has been a serious issue for me. Do mahindras tend to rattle a lot ?

Re: Is your car rattle-free?

2023 Harrier XZA+

The wind noise from the driver side door is irritating, especially since it starts around 80kmpl speed, which is my desired cruising speed

The other one is the window rattle. Each of the 4 doors have a mind of their own and the windows rattle up even with a little shake of the car. I think it is to do with the beading and even a generous amount silicon spray won't last longer than a month before they start rattling.

Tata Nano XTA '16

8 years+ 47k km no rattle or squeak as such, but if I hits a crater (some Kanpur roads are notorious)there is small squeak from the passenger side dash.

Tata Nexon D XMA '18

6 years+ 21k km Nothing at all. Some months back the rubber washers of the Air Filter box had given way, there was a rattle on starting, now fixed.

Hyundai Grand i10, 2019 - Issues with wipers since purchase. No other issues noted for the first 4 years. Now, the clutch has become hard and engine sound has changed after the service, it was good before service.

Re: Is your car rattle-free?

Ignis Zeta MT 2022 BS6 ph1:

No rattles whatsoever.

Grand Vitara Zeta AT 2024 BS6 ph2:

Rattles from window glass when music volume is high, or when the window is partially rolled down.

Also, there is a feeble occasional "clunk" sound from the left front suspension/underbody when going over speedbreakers. Maruti engineers don't find anything wrong though.
