5-Door starts at 76 Lac which seems to be competitive given it's a CBU. They will announce pricing variant vice in a day or so.

Let's see what all things are standard and more importantly, how are the options priced.

A very nice product video.

Love it! No way I can afford it, but if I ever get the chance to get a decently priced used one I would buy it. Also good pricing as well!

Check this advertisement. The visuals reminded me of the old Tata Safari ads with the whole vehicle jumping around in slush and the voice over is quite good too :)

This is from the upcoming Bond movie - No Time To Die. Are the vehicles really jumping that high?

I guess so. Read somewhere that the vehicles are modified. You can notice the gear lever vibrating while crossing the water body is not the usual one. They could have used some rally suspension setup just for the first shot:D

Iconic Defender brand + realistic pricing (by CBU standards) and handsome styling = this one is priced to sell. No matter how it drives, or that there's no diesel in the line-up.

I think Land Rover is learning a thing or two from parent Tata Motors. That is, to launch cars without actually making them available :) (e.g. Harrier AT, Altroz Diesel). The press release says that deliveries will "begin" in August. And there are no real detailed reviews of the car, not even internationally.

That explains it! I got confused since as far as I know, they haven't started deliveries in Europe.

Spot on pricing though! Should give some tough competition to the GLE & X5, even it's own siblings Evoque and Velar may feel the heat despite being Range Rovers (but CKDs).

Suzuki is doing a similar thing with the Jimny. A few months back I went to a dealer in West London to enquire about the Jimny. They said that there is no test drive vehicle available and could not confirm any date about the availability. A few days back I saw that the dealership is no longer there. The space is up for letting.
By the way, I got a call from a local Land Rover dealership today that the new Defender will be available for viewing in April this year. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Im surprised that the dealership doesnt have a display car yet. I saw the new Defender at the Dubai Motor Show 2019 and while it doesn't look raw as the earlier one, it does have oodles of character and quite plush on the inside. And not to mention lots of tech.

Im happy to see the Defender here finally and the pricing isn't all that bad inspite of being a CBU. Hope it sells well so I could think of a pre owned one few years down the line. :) While the 110 is nice, the 90 with steel wheels would be my pick.

:D Can't comment on domestic production of TATA but JLR has probably done the right thing by launching the car early here as it gives customers enough time to configure and spec to their liking. Normally CBU Allocations are in 2-3 months after placing the order and shipping/ clearing time after production is around 2-3 months. This particular model is not yet released internationally so there are no reviews yet. Whatever they have displayed at the expos overseas must be pre-production models.

None of the dealerships anywhere will have this on Display yet. North America will get in March/ April and going by the post of BlackPearl even in the UK these will be available in April. I am made to understand from a Dealer that JLR India will have something soon for prospective customers.

Indian webpage to configure is live and so are the prices, I could not find prices for the optional packs though. HSE variant looks very well loaded.
