Hyundai Verna facelift spied with gloss black grille

A new spy image of the Hyundai Verna facelift suggests that the car could also be offered with a gloss black grille.



Apart from the new gloss black grille, the test car seen in this image also has triple-pod LED headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights. It has a dual-tone bumper with gloss black air dam and fog lamp pods.

The new Verna is also expected to get a chrome grille option and dual-tone alloy wheels.

The Verna will be offered with a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, a 1.5-litre petrol paired with either a 6-speed manual or CVT and a 1.5-litre diesel engine mated to either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox.

The black elements look good but I'm not sure how it'll stand out in a darker themed car. It will be interesting to see if gloss black on the outside develop swirl marks. Could we assume that the black highlights may be reserved only for the Turbo variants?

This is just amazing and soothing to look at after seeing the chrome laden normal version! I was wondering of ways one can black out all that grille chrome after buying the car but Hyundai seems to have already won my heart! And that triple pod setup is outright gorgeous. Seems like I have settled on a car before it is even launched.

Ouch. What happened to the clean interiors.

The tablet looks terrible. Looks like they wanted to fit a bigger screen but no space between the AC vents so lets stick it there and let it hang out on all sides.

And the instrument cluster. This is what we techies call CTRL+C and CTRL+V. Straight from BMW with no shame.

As @Vid6639 said, the screen looks terribly integrated!
Why mess up a thing which was just perfect
The new speedo will be hard to read as the one it is copied from (BMWs) suffers the same issue and this being a rip off will be even worse!
The only thing I like from the interior are the silver accents in AC vents.

Ah! I was wondering how Hyundai is going to manage good sales numbers for the AURA. This is their solution! An Aura owner will get the feeling of sitting almost in a new Verna now! I.e. he/she won't feel that they are in a lower segment car built to cost. Smart ploy by Hyundai. Anyway the C2 segment is dying, use it to increase sales of the sub4m sedan.

Loved the outer ring of the chunky steering though. If tuned well - this will be one engaging unit. Smallish & thick-ish.

Hyundai has messed up the interiors big time. That tablet looks awful.
Pre facelift interiors look way better. Below is the comparison between pre facelift and upcoming Verna for reference.

First thing that came to my mind was the tab that are fixed on OLA Prime Play cabs. Hyundai's integration in interiors was always top notch, this may be the first disappointment. They should have considered the stand-up infotainment which is reasonably well received in the market.

Honestly, the integration of tablet looks more like an aftermarket attempt rather than a perfect factory finish.

Those analogue dials were way better to look at than those quirky BMW style cluster.

The central console now kinda reminds me of old Mercedes GLE and GLS interiors.

Interior is Hyundai's forte in India, if they come up with a mediocre interior, how can they fare against the upcoming City and present Ciaz.

Ouch that looks like the generic 10,000 Rupees infotainment systems they sell in Karol Bagh. And that ugly grill!
I think my 2017 Creta will be the last Hyundai I own, with the design getting progressively worse inside out. I think they’re prioritising design for the Chinese market?
