Never liked the look of the current gen Verna/Accent until now. This is a looker for sure. I'd say that the Verna will get the three engines in the same state of tune as Seltos. Friends who've driven both engines say that the 1.6 was outstanding, whereas the 1.5 is very good. So, nothing to worry.

I want the 1.0 to sell in healthy numbers to show MSIL that they missed the boat.

Wonder if the feature list and performance of the new Verna will be intentionally kept a notch below Creta to justify the price differential?

The older Verna was perhaps a better equipped (ventilated seats) car than the Creta with the same engines at a much lower cost.

Thank god they did not get inspired by Creta's rear. This looks very elegant and neat, probably the best looking among the Sedans of this segment ( City / Ciaz )

Nope. It's coming with the 1.0 L with DCT combo (same as Venue).

If m not wrong, the current Creta too had the ventilated seats in the SX (O) variant.

When all the 3 sedans - Ciaz, City and Verna have the same overall length, how come Verna managed to cramp the rear leg room so much? I really like the car but for the rear seat leg room. The space is same as in Xcent I would say.

The C segment sedans have been the aspirational cars for a typical Indian middle class household. One of the things that characterized these cars was their progressiveness. For most of it's lifetime, the City has been a great looking car and Verna has also never disappointed (barring the first gen which had polarizing views but was still widely liked).
Now with the new gen City and the Verna facelift, it seems that the manufacturers have given up on these halo offerings and have accepted defeat in the face of so called SUVs.
The new City looked really disappointing, not that it's a bad looking vehicle but it was nowhere near to what we expect from a generation update of The Honda City .
Unfortunately, the new Verna also seems like they did a half job. The car does look good from the front but they apparently didn't even try in the side and rear departments.

Actually the Ciaz is longer. The lengths are as follows:
Ciaz : 4,490 mm
Verna : 4,440 mm
City : 4,440 mm [5th Gen City will be longer]

The earlier Verna prior to 2017 was based on the i20 Platform and was even more pathetic both from space as well as handling perspective. With the 2017 Verna + Elantra Platform they managed to fix the handling but space they could not but improved it by a small margin. If you see even Maruti could not match upto Honda's space management engineering which is very superior and hence made a longer car to ensure they provided a spacious car.

So, the 1.0 T GDI is going to be available in SX(O) instead of SX+. Really unlike the typical Hyundai.

Especially when both Aura and NIOS didn't get this engine on the top variant. Even the Venue doesn't have the turbo petrol DCT on the top variant yet. Or is my memory failing me again?
