Baleno DualJet too has 88.5Bhp. There is no change in power figures.

Re: Rumour: Maruti Dzire facelift could be launched in April 2020

Happy to see the new Maruti Suzuki Dzire getting the DualJet K12C engine as a standard option across all variants. This is much better than the Baleno variant, which got it at a very high premium over the K12B engine option because of the Smart Hybrid technology. The additional noteworthy features including the cruise control, auto open trunk, manual temperature/fuel gauges, hill assist, TFT MID, etc. makes the vehicle a really very attractive option.

The increase in mileage over the previous iteration without even including the hybrid tech and increment in power are some major bonus points. Really wished Maruti would've done something about the safety aspect and build quality of their vehicles.

Nonetheless, an overall all-rounder Dzire yet again from Maruti.

I own the Dzire 2017 Vxi AGS model. The only significant difference, if I compare the 2017 model with 2020 one, is the hill hold control feature. This is as per info on the CarWale website. The price difference is works out to ₹60k between what I paid for it in 2017 and vs now. So considering the BS6 upgrade and the hill hold feature I guess the price hike isn't so bad as I had initially feared.

Would the changes result in a better safety rating? Or would the Heartect platform hold these cars from ever getting a great rating?

Now that is something totally unexpected for the segment - gesture controlled trunk opening.

  1. Hands-free boot release
  2. LED projector headlamps - Automatic!
  3. Cruise control
  4. ESP
  5. Leather steering
  6. Anti-pinch windows.

The DZire was selling many-times more than competition even WITHOUT these features so far. Now the features are here.

Forget about the in-segment competition - the City-Verna-Ciaz just lost a lot of customers who make a check-list of features when selecting a car. DZire you beauty! Man MSIL is really going all guns blazing to make up for the lack of a diesel engine. Its as if they are trying to blitz the customers and make them not even notice about a missing diesel. And boy are they doing a great job of it so far.

Pardon me if I am missing something, the brochure doesn't mention anything related to gesture controlled trunk opening, though it's seen in the TVC.

But then, it had a diesel heart. Word is that the Brezza isn't doing well with the petrol engine. But yes, respects to MS for bringing in ESP, Hill hold and Brake Assist. Suddenly from nowhere it's my top choice. Now, for this pickle we are in, and normalcy to be restored...

What I don't understand is; while the Baleno Delta and Baleno Dualjet Delta are priced with a 90K difference, how can the old DZire and Dualjet Dzire be priced so close! Am I missing something?

Re: Rumour: Maruti Dzire facelift could be launched in April 2020

Does the Hill assist feature need some mechanical setup or can be controlled via the on-board ECU? same question for touch free boot opening feature

being owner of a ZXi+ AMT Dzire would love to have the hill assist feature. Touch free boot opening is OK to miss out for me.

The infotainment system looks new and would have love to have this to the current one. hope current gen dzire owners can also get the same interface with a simple software upgrade. though the controls looks different.

The brake's being made bigger is a good move. The current gen dzire has issues with the brakes and i had to get them changed twice in warranty in 2.5 years of ownership!

Digital MID is a good feature to have and i would miss that.

The front of the current gen dzire is much better than this new one though!

IIRC, it's introduced as an official accessory in Ciaz but showed in TVC, it's the same now.

Nice commercial, seeing the commercial for a moment I thought the car is going to have a sunroof.
