Nice. I do hope this has atleast decent build quality and does not end up as a tin can like the seltos. Kias are known for being feature packed as well as offering nice engine options on most of their cars, especially the Sonet with the 1.5 diesel is a real fun car to drive on the expressways, so I hope this MPV also comes with the 1.5, maybe with a slight tune perhaps (120-125 hp)?

If it's built better than the seltos (minimum 4 stars crash test rating), has a nice diesel and is spacious, I might just bring one home

Any speculation where it will be slotted in terms of pricing? My bet would be similar to how Alcazar is to Creta.

Good thing there is a 5 month waiting for my Sonet. Will get a chance to see Carens too

New Kia MPV will go on sale early next year and could be called Kia Carens.

On the inside, sources tell us that this new MPV will have a "usable" third row with better legroom than most of its rivals.

Power and torque figures and gearbox options are also expected to be similar to the Seltos.

Had a chance to peep into a test vehicle today ( Probably top most variant )

- Alloys looked classy and filled the wheel arch well
- Sunroof ( Non panoramic )
- Had captain seats in the 2nd row. Couldn't get a look at the 3rd row
- Beige seats looked decent
- Similar steering to that of Seltos
- Road presence felt better than that of Ertiga / XL6
- Manual Transmission

Why is everyone trying to project it as a new vehicle altogether. Someone is saying its a Sonet based, some other expect it to be XL6 fighter.


Look at the A - Piller and the more camouflaging at the rear end, it is clearly Seltos 7 seater.


And if it is Seltos 7-seater, it is nothing but the rebadged Alcazar with a new moniker. How in the world can it have a better 3rd row seating than Alcazar then?

I am game for the diesel variant if it is competitive price as i havent been able to finalize a 7-seater for myself.

Mid spec Kia Carens Interior leaked, gets an 8 inch touchscreen unit, top end variants will get the 10.25 inch unit.

Interior is different from both Sonet and Seltos, unlike Creta > Alcazar.

We need an usable third row and an usable boot space. That will make the big differentiator in the MPV segment.

Test mule was waiting next to me at signal, tyres were r16/205/65. Overall stance were more like MPV rather than Creta like SUV. My guess is that this will be an extended Sonet, priced on par with Seltos/Creta.
