This has been a deal breaker for me, along with the absence of rear wiper on W6 variant. The W8 at close to 16 OTR with AMT is just not worth it. My never ending hunt continues despite upping the budget significantly.

Official XUV300 page is down since last night, new details should be published on M&M website very soon.

Only wish they were introducing a Torque Converter automatic with it.

They might not even offer AMT, Torque converter chances are next to NIL. With a proper automatic and extra at least 50 litres boot space this car could have been perfect. Sadly sub 4m rule won't allow that to happen.

re: Mahindra unveils 130 BHP XUV300 TurboSport. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 10.35 lakh

Honestly, this car is extremely capable of burning the sales charts. However, I feel it's not receiving enough love in-house like the bigger cousins the Scorpio N, XUV 700 & Thar. It is also understandle those products are completely new. But, if they shower 50-60% of love for this capable C-SUV, this will be a rockstar.

I have driven a petrol 300 and I must say I was mighty impressed with how the car drives and the engine is a masterpiece. The updated engine must make this car a enthusiasts favorite. 130bhp won't be a joke.

My gut feeling says that this is going to be launched in manual only because no enthusiast ever said let me buy an AMT.

Having a TC would be just awesome, hopefully in future.

I wish manufacturers could just spend some time on these forums and it would be the cheapest market research they could do.

The problem is that its a nobody's car right now. For people who want a simple family car, the Venue, Sonet/Brezza/Nexons offer better boot space and interiors and mileage. For people who want automatics, the AMT often doesn't make the cut. And that boot is a dealbreaker for most people. I doubt adding a better engine is going to change anything - the issues with this car are all fundamental design related - interiors and exteriors and boot space, choice of transmission etc - and not related to the engine.

Unsure why Pratap Bose is unable to work his magic on Mahindra design. Coupled with a non-existent boot this being a capable car is let down by the interior design and exterior proportions.

re: Mahindra unveils 130 BHP XUV300 TurboSport. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 10.35 lakh

The XUV 300's AMT gearbox and the boot would make me want to pass over what is otherwise a brilliant package, if I were looking for a car right now.

So no - the unveiling of an upgraded Sportz variant doesn't help, in my mind at least.

Off-topic: The Nexon's AMT is also a let-down similarly. Finally, the Brezza came with a 6 speed Torque Converter and the Lord seemed to have answered our prayers...but Maruti had to plonk a wheezing K15C engine in it.

If one want's a compact SUV with a sporty powertrain, the Hyunda Venue nline is the way to go. Total hoot to drive and sounds the part too.

re: Mahindra unveils 130 BHP XUV300 TurboSport. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 10.35 lakh

I drive the high end 3OO and trust me, the engine is a true gem. I am a sober driver but the power figures tempt me once in a while to check out the torque. It has some really impressive figures. The best in class torque, best in class wheelbase, best in class safety and the most important one - the widest in the segment which makes it a proper 5 seater. The interiors look dated but it's practical. The buttons are hard but are built to last I guess. The centre console definitely can be made more blingy (like the Koreans). I did not find the boot space to be a let down, is decent for weekend trips with my family. When safety is of high importance, I thought the boot space could be compromised a bit.

Will there be a ICE equivalent of the Electric XUV300 which has a bigger boot? I think that would be a very good package.
