Attaching an image from Skoda auto website of Vision X which Vision IN is based upon.
Yes I know. The lower corner pieces look fine - even if they end up being just reflectors in production spec. The red piece running across the width of the car on the boot lid is what I'm finding unlike German designs. At least in the designs that they have submitted for registration. Maybe the production car will make it look more subtle and likable.

Skoda Kamiq spied testing in India.

Could this be the production version of Skoda Vision IN?

So many potential names doing the rounds for one car! Kliq, Enyaq, Kosmiq! From what I can understand, the car planned for being launched in India, as a rival to the Creta and Seltos is not the Kamiq. Globally, the Kamiq sits just below the Karoq, so clearly thats not coming here for now. What Skoda is developing for India and other emerging markets is a new compact SUV which is what we are seeing here as the Vision IN. And this is the same model which VW also will sell under a different name, T-Cross, I suppose.

I don’t believe the car in these pictures is the Vision IN car. This is the fully imported European Kamiq. It is smaller than the Indian cousin being developed under Vision-IN program to be called the Kliq. The car being developed for India is still very much under “development”, so we will not see such a near-final car with zero camaflauge till end of the year or early next year. I think the car in the photo is a CBU unit imported for testing/reference purposes as they develop the Kliq.

Both VW and Skoda are modifying the underlying MQB platform to create MQB-A0-IN based T-Cross and KLIQ SUVs which will be based on the Taigun and Kamiq but will be larger and flashier, but also cheaper to build.

Re: Skoda Vision IN @ Auto Expo 2020

Škoda 'KLIQ' likely to start from ~ ₹ 10.5 lakhs, when launched in India.

Quote:
In terms of price, the new SUV should start in terms of some 330 thousand korun, which is not so dizzying sum, even though it will be one of the more expensive representatives on the Indian market. This is one of the reasons why Vision IN received a relatively aggressive design, which the production Škoda Kliq should also retain. However, the brand hopes to be able to surprise customers with discounts, as it intends to move the use of Indian resources from the current 92 to 95-96 percent

Re: Skoda Vision IN @ Auto Expo 2020

SEAT ARONA spotted in India!

VW Taigun and Vision IN based loosely on the global T Cross and Kamiq will arrive in early 2021 in India. Based on the MQB A0 global platform the SUV's will be cost effective and based on the MQB A0 IN platform .

VW could be looking at ways to improve cost given the high localization in India. Enter the SEAT ARONA , sibling to the T CROSS and Kamiq. The SUV could be testing components supporting cost reasons to their global products.

Quote:
The SEAT Arona is likely serving as a test bed for the localized MQB A0 IN platform that will underpin VW Taigun and Skoda Vision IN
Quote:
The SUV is based on the MQB A0 platform and could be here for internal benchmarking purposes. It could also be a test bed for made-in-India components of VW’s cost effective modular architecture.

Going by their platform-mate SEAT Arona’s equipment list, one could expect the India-spec SUV to be equipped with configurable color TFT instrument console, touchscreen infotainment system with latest connectivity features, wireless phone charging, full LED headlights, front and curtain airbags, parking assistance system and so on.

With heavy localization and scale offered by two products, we expect the VW Taigun and its Skoda sibling to be priced competitively compared to its rivals. The MQB A0 IN will also underpin other future products for India

Re: Skoda Vision IN @ Auto Expo 2020

Skoda India confirms that the new mid size SUV (Skoda Vision IN) would be launched in India in Q2 next year. It is worth the wait.

Further, Skoda is adding new dealerships in preparation for India 2.0. I think they are now taking the Indian market seriously.

Here is the tweet.

SEAT ARONA spied again, this time on the Mumbai-Pune expressway

Quote:
Both the new crossovers from VW and Skoda will be based upon the MQB A0 IN platform and that is probably being tested by VW engineers under the disguise of these SEAT Arona SUVs

Production-spec Skoda Vision IN SUV to debut in Q1 2021

According to a media report, Skoda is set to unveil the production-spec Vision IN crossover in the first quarter of 2021. The car will go on sale in the second quarter of the same year.

Skoda Vision IN @ Auto Expo 2020-download-4.jpg

The Skoda Vision IN Concept was showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo. The concept measures 4,256 mm in length and has a wheelbase of 2,671 mm. It has a typical Skoda look with the family grille design and headlamp clusters.

It is rumoured that production version could be called the Kosmiq. The new crossover will be based on the VW Group's MQB A0 IN platform. Leaked patent images suggest that the production version will look similar to the Vision IN Concept.

The Skoda Kosmiq will most likely be powered by a 1.5-litre TSI turbo petrol engine producing 148 BHP and 250 Nm. The engine will be paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Re: Skoda Vision IN @ Auto Expo 2020

ŠKODA Vision IN likely to get multiple power-trains so to attract a wider customer base and gain market share.

-1.0-litre TSI engine in the low and mid trims

- The 1.0L TSI likely to come in 6 MT and AT (TC) configurations

- Top spec will be offered in the 1.5L TSI and DSG combination.

Re: Skoda Vision IN @ Auto Expo 2020

This 2021 obsession has killed my interest even for the new Rapid. I wonder how many people are patiently waiting another year for a Skoda purchase when their rivals are cashing in all the way to the bank and every 6 months there's a new rival.

Re: Skoda Vision IN @ Auto Expo 2020

Indeed....I am also waiting for Skoda to launch their new products on MQB A0 IN and looks like wait is forever and testing everyone's patience.

Any idea if this compact SUV will come in 2 engines like 1.0L TSI and 1.5L TSI ?
It would be a good strategy to attract various price band customer I think

The Wheelbase of the Vision In seems extraordinary - it almost looks like Skoda hired Honda engineers to create that kind of wheelbase spec on a car of that length.

If they convert the Wheelbase on tap to a good interior space, then it may end up being the roomiest SUV in the segment.
