The MG Motor pavilion has a British theme. The company has tried to make on feel like he is in London by putting up boards with street names of London at various locations. There is an old British telephone booth as well. A merchandise section has been set up too.

This is the first time that MG Motor is participating in the Delhi Auto Expo. The company has showcased a line-up of 14 products at event.

The Hector Plus - a 6 / 7-seater version of the Hector has been showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo. The vehicle is scheduled to go on sale later this year.

The Hector Plus gets some changes to the exterior as well as the interior in relation to the regular car:


There is a reworked front end with a new grille, DRLs, restyled bumper and headlamp housings:


The Hector Plus is longer than the regular model by 40 mm:


Rear end features reworked tail lamps without the red strip running between them, a new chrome garnish and a redesigned bumper:


Reversing lamps have been redesigned:


Black and brown interiors with an an updated 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit and customisable seating (2+2+2/2+3+2):

MG launched the ZS EV in India in January 2020.

The ZS EV is available in two variants - Excite and Exclusive priced at Rs. 20.88 lakh and Rs. 23.58 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively:


Exterior features projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights, 17-inch machined alloy wheels, roof rails and a spoiler:


Equipment and features include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit, 6-way power adjustable driver seat, panoramic sunroof, rain-sensing wipers, push button start stop with Smart Entry, 3-level Kinetic Energy Recovery System, cruise control, auto headlamps with follow me home function, air-conditioning and power adjustable ORVMs:


44.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack with a claimed maximum range of 340 km on a single charge. MG claims that the battery can be recharged to 80% of its capacity in 50 minutes using a 50 kW DC fast charger.


Electric motor produces 141 BHP and 353 Nm:

The facelifted version of the MG ZS Petrol is being considered for India. It is powered by 1.5L (118 BHP & 150 Nm) petrol and 1.3L (161 BHP & 230 Nm) turbocharged petrol engines. Features includes sky roof, smart entry, 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit, internet, OTA updates, voice control, remote control through app and 6 airbags.



Changes at the front include a restyled grille, new headlamps and new front bumper:

The MG Marvel X is claimed to be the world’s first mass-production model to achieve Level-3 Intelligent Driving. It is part of MG’s focus on developing products with integrated internet, electric, and autonomous capabilities. Its augmented reality (AR) maps, are claimed to make navigation more precise and visual – allowing the vehicle to autonomously find a parking bay and park itself.

The MG Marvel X is a re-badged Roewe Marvel X:


Powered by a 52.5 kWh lithium-ion battery with two electric motors producing 183 BHP and 410 Nm. It is claimed to offer a maximum range of 403 km (NEDC cycle) on a single charge:


MG claims that the Marvel X can be recharged from 0-80% of its battery capacity in 40 minutes using a DC fast charger. A regular AC charger takes 8.5 hours to charge the battery fully:

Another car that MG is evaluating for India is the RC6. This is a 5-seater sedan powered by a 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine that develops 145 BHP & 250Nm. It has a continuously variable transmission:

Length, width and height stand at 4,925 mm, 1,880 mm and 1,580 mm respectively. Wheelbase = 2,800 mm:

The eMG6 hybrid has been displayed at the 2020 Auto Expo. In hybrid mode, it has a claimed range of 705 km, while in EV mode, it can travel 51 km. Features include Trophy Sports Kit, Hybrid Mode and EV Mode shifting, dual zone climate control, ESC + XDS (electronic differential lock), internet, OTA, voice control, remote control and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit.

Fastback styling with 5 doors and 5 seats:


Powered by a 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine + 9.1 kWH Lithion-ion battery with a combined output of 300 BHP & 480 Nm. It has a 10-speed transmission:

The Vision-i Concept is touted as “the world’s first 5G zero-screen smart cockpit” and is being developed as a vehicle that will be a carrier for 5G travelling scenarios. The futuristic concept car comes equipped with multiple hands-free driving modes such as education, leisure, driving, sleeping or meeting:

The MG6 XPower TCR is powered by a 2.0L, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that puts out 345 BHP and 460 Nm. It has a 6-speed sequential transmission with paddle shifters. 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds; top speed = 265 km/h. Stopping power comes from 378 mm ventilated disc brakes with 4-piston calipers at the front and 272 mm disc brakes with 2-piston calipers at the rear:

The name MG always brings images of old British sports car to one's mind. Sure enough, MG Motor has displayed a couple of MGAs at its pavilion.

MG's display & size is like that of a large manufacturer (even though it has 1 primary product on sale). And there's a reason for that = the company has smartly used the Auto Expo for brand building at a crucial stage of its life. Just look at some of the snazzy cars, futuristic concepts and classic MGs on display. Mission accomplished, I say.
