MG Motor @ Auto Expo 2020

Big shoutout to Vid6639 for shooting these pictures & his coverage of the Auto Expo. Thanks for sharing, man!

The MG Motor pavilion has a British theme. The company has tried to make on feel like he is in London by putting up boards with street names of London at various locations. There is an old British telephone booth as well. A merchandise section has been set up too.

This is the first time that MG Motor is participating in the Delhi Auto Expo. The company has showcased a line-up of 14 products at event.

The Hector Plus - a 6 / 7-seater version of the Hector has been showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo. The vehicle is scheduled to go on sale later this year.

The Hector Plus gets some changes to the exterior as well as the interior in relation to the regular car:

MG launched the ZS EV in India in January 2020.

The ZS EV is available in two variants - Excite and Exclusive priced at Rs. 20.88 lakh and Rs. 23.58 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively:

The facelifted version of the MG ZS Petrol is being considered for India. It is powered by 1.5L (118 BHP & 150 Nm) petrol and 1.3L (161 BHP & 230 Nm) turbocharged petrol engines. Features includes sky roof, smart entry, 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit, internet, OTA updates, voice control, remote control through app and 6 airbags.

The MG Marvel X is claimed to be the world’s first mass-production model to achieve Level-3 Intelligent Driving. It is part of MG’s focus on developing products with integrated internet, electric, and autonomous capabilities. Its augmented reality (AR) maps, are claimed to make navigation more precise and visual – allowing the vehicle to autonomously find a parking bay and park itself.

Another car that MG is evaluating for India is the RC6. This is a 5-seater sedan powered by a 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine that develops 145 BHP & 250Nm. It has a continuously variable transmission:

The eMG6 hybrid has been displayed at the 2020 Auto Expo. In hybrid mode, it has a claimed range of 705 km, while in EV mode, it can travel 51 km. Features include Trophy Sports Kit, Hybrid Mode and EV Mode shifting, dual zone climate control, ESC + XDS (electronic differential lock), internet, OTA, voice control, remote control and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit.

The MG6 XPower TCR is powered by a 2.0L, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that puts out 345 BHP and 460 Nm. It has a 6-speed sequential transmission with paddle shifters. 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds; top speed = 265 km/h. Stopping power comes from 378 mm ventilated disc brakes with 4-piston calipers at the front and 272 mm disc brakes with 2-piston calipers at the rear:

MG's display & size is like that of a large manufacturer (even though it has 1 primary product on sale). And there's a reason for that = the company has smartly used the Auto Expo for brand building at a crucial stage of its life. Just look at some of the snazzy cars, futuristic concepts and classic MGs on display. Mission accomplished, I say.
