Re: VW Tiguan Allspace & T-Roc pre-bookings open

Any idea about pricing or a date when they will start deliveries? Frankly, they could have used this opportunity better and shared the prices at the event. If Mercedes can launch a GT-S @ 2,42 Cr, why is VW worried about sharing the costs? And what will they get by pre-booking?

Given the way, VW is pricing its new launches from Audi to Skoda. It will be difficult to predict prices for Tiguan, do they plan to launch as a cheaper alternative to Q5 or?

And is this - Taigun -new one launched already? What are differences over the outgoing one? Too much confusion with their nomenclature

Edit - VW Auto expo thread has better info

Re: Volkswagen @ Auto Expo 2020

Taigun looks very interesting and much closer to production than the Skoda Vision IN. Elegant design typical of Volkswagen.

But it surely has it's work cut out! It is entering the most competitive segment right now with a couple of handicaps - No diesel option, looks like the smallest dimensions in the segment and underwhelming interiors (That light grey shade looks cheap at least in pictures, compared to the dark interiors of the TRoc, for example!).

Volkswagen is claiming high localization above 90% and even up to 95% if they can localize the gearbox - so hope this is competitively priced and doesn't go up directly against the likes of the Seltos.

Re: Volkswagen @ Auto Expo 2020

Volkswagen has really found the energy it was lacking in India for a long time. Even though not personally a fan of the extra bling in the new models, market may like it and accept if priced reasonably well. Overall designs are nice and fresh, which most people could like. At least you can wrap in black the funky elements if not to your taste

New TSI engines and DSG with better reliability may make up for the lack of diesels. Still, it is almost like a new life for them with out the diesels.

Re: Volkswagen @ Auto Expo 2020

They ruined a perfectly looking handsome Tiguan and made a station wagon out if it.

The Taigun is what exactly... it's neither a hatch nor an SUV. With those low profile tyres it will be a very bumpy ride or blown sidewalls on Indian roads. Neither is it spacious.

The T-Roc is too small and looks like a SUV Wannabe with a Hatchback body.

With the premium pricing that VS is known for I doubt anyone will see any value to these new cars.

VW will continue to remain a low volume player IMHO.

And why are they showcasing the Older Tiguan now, haven't they stopped selling it and replaced it with the newer Allspace. My God even the name sounds like it is a Station Wagon and not an SUV.

Re: Volkswagen @ Auto Expo 2020

They should introduce VW Golf in India, it's high time. It really has the potential to displace the premium hot hatch auto scene in India. If marketed and positioned well, it can be a game changer.
