Well, HM needs to learn a thing or two about marketing a good product, or any product for that matter.....and then may be think about bringing in the next get lancer.
A better thing as many fellow bhpians rightly pointed out, is for Mitsubishi to leave their ally HM, cut off the cancer before its too late, and then enter the indian scene headfirst!!!!

Today evening saw an advt for new lancer on ESPN. could not believe that mitsu guys can do that. Yes it was advt for new lancer.

Getting quite popular in the US.. Happened to count 6 ES versions (like the one I have) all in 1 day.

If it doesnt come now, it surely will lose its snob value just like what happenned to Cedia which IMO was launched very late in India. I hope Mitsu dont repeat their past mistakes.

The old Lancer is already here as Cedia. Perhaps the new new Lancer. For that Mitsubishi needs to have some cash also, and commitment.

(I am in US for a business trip) - For the past 2+ weeks, I have seen only 3 Cedias so far (I was quite excited when I saw them though) - And saw one 2008 Lancer (Black) - It looked awesome!

I dont know if it helps. I had sneaked in their insides as a press guy at the autoexpo 08 and had conversation with a mitsu person. Dont know how useful it is but can upload the video if t-bhpians demand.

I think this is the right time for HM to launch the new lancer if at all they want to get back into the race . Its now or never , and if they cant do with this great machine then they are going to sink eventually. Time for HM guys to buckle up and get it right atleast this time.

problem is the "OLD LANCER" which is here as the CEDIA is the EVO 8 series...

the new lancer sold is based on the EVO 10 ( or vice versa )

mitusubishi would do itself and the buying public a BIG FAVOUR even if they launch the EVO 9 series ( its a great looker )...

in fact before the CEDIA was launched, MITSU brought in a few EVO 9s and displayed it in various showrooms,

i remember going to the MITSU showroom in COCHIN ( i think in 2005) and oggling at a red sample hoping this is what they would launch..!

If they decide to launch the EVO in the next one year, I am ready to put down the full payment as deposit within 24 hours. The Lancer really clicked due to the "enthusiast" aura around it, but HM has not managed to do that with the Cedia. Nothing like the EVO to get enthusiasts back into HM showrooms, and to rebuild that image. Yamaha has launched the R1 and Porsche has a full-fledged showroom in Mumbai.

The question is : why not?
