New Mitsubishi Lancer. When will it come to India?

Mitsu is launching the Outlander in 2008, good SUV will cost around 20lakhs plus, thats in the premium SUV range.
Don't know about the lancer, although i heard somewhere, they were thinking of discontinuing the cedia, but its not confirmed, lucky me, who bought the baby couple of weeks back. good luck to me

I heard that the 2008 Lancer is coming to India next year sometime. The one in the US has a 2.0L 150bhp engine,and they were going to introduce the same version in 3-4 countries,including India.

The 2009 Evo will be a stunner..its gonna have a 2.7L 300bhp engine!

What you are seeing on road , thats Cedia is a LAncer , and there is no way the new Lancer is going to be priced below 10 lacs , if it does then its awesome but the chances are very remote.

If the 2008 Lancer is introduced,it'll cost anywhere from 10-16 lakhs. The versions without the paddle shifts cost around $ 17K,and those hardly have anything worthwhile.

The best of the lot is the GT,complete with paddle shifts, Rockford-Fosgate music system and the works.. And that costs $23-25K.

Yes Sir,it is. My point being that if the 2008 Lancer were to get to Indian roads,it'll come with fewer goodies or the price will be cranked up much higher.

At the rate at which cars are getting to India.. quite possible.
If not anything else,someone's gonna import it (Lancer). Of course,its not really worth it,since 150bhp can come in at a lesser cost.
Its a classic looking car,borrowing lines from the Lexus IS250 & the Volvo S40.

Evo!!! Hmm...now thats the one!

Last months Overdrive did state that Mitsubishi will launch Outlander and Galant. They stated that the sedan Galant will be placed higher than Cedia. Nothing related to New Lancer stated there. But guess its high time they actually did.

Mitsubishi India are known to have a 10-year mandatory lifecyle for any of their products. With that in mind, its unlikely the Cedia will be phased out.

Being a fan of Mitsubishi, I wish that they dont launch any more vehicles without setting right their sales/service operations here. Its doing their current vehicles no good - which is very sad esp due to the accomplished nature of their products.

Cedia is indeed the new Lancer. Maybe they can bring in a better engine and that with a diesel option to help sales.

Gallant will be a 15lac car I guess and so would be the Outlander, the premium SUV.
