This months ACI says that the EVO X would be here by the year end , and would be priced @ Rs 27 lakhs.

Lets hope the figure doesnt cross the 30 lakh mark .

Thats the same price range as accord v6.. But then the evo has a niche market.. for the pure enthusiast.. For the outstanding handling and driving fun!

If they manage to launch the EVO X at around 30 lakhs it will be a major success for mitsu, and also bump up its brand value too.

You betcha! The EVO will drive enthusiasts into Mitsubishi showrooms once again (after a period of 10 years) and take the brand into homes that they otherwise could have only dreamt of. The EVO will become a supreme marketing tool for the brand.

My worry is again on the actual price. The EVO X is priced at par / more than the Pajero 3.2 Diesel in Japan. The latter sells at 48 lakhs OTR Mumbai, do the math!

Yes, I did, and it's going to disappoint a lot of us. The price is too high, and the VFM feeling is lost (You are in the 5 series E class A6 territory at 48 lakhs ).
30 Lakhs and then HM can start talking sense. Will they be able to manage?

Did a small little survey & found that in JAPAN ,
Evo X GSR model (5 M/T) is for 3,790,500円 which is approx Rs. 18,95,250 where as
Montero 3.2 Di-D Variant is for 3,948,000円 which is aproxx Rs. 19,72,500
As GTO said the Montero is being sold OTR Mumbai @ Rs 48 lakhs , if we go by this conversion the Evo whould be costing aproxx 45 lakhs.
Dont know why ACI has stated a figure of Rs 27 lakhs ?
Or the other possiblity is that the Montero is a CBU , but the EVO would be a CKD ? just a thought.

Just worrying about the price.
The main worry factor should be the after sales service.
Are the workers at Mitsubishi India even capable of doing work on it.
With already pathetic After Sales, i dont think it will be any better with the Evo which would require a good amount of maintenance.

I hope the pricing will be relatively reasonable, as I will then be able to have something to drive for myself when I go to India during holiday breaks.

Got an insight that the Evo X would be coming in as a CBU (so would be expensive - expect a price of around 32-38 lakhs) and would be launching first and then the new lancer would be coming in .
Expect the Evo X by max YEAR END.

Don't know which evo is being discussed here. Anyway UK mitsubishi website has price of evo X ranging from 29499 (pounds) to 51499 (pounds). The Evo X FQ-400 is simply sweeeeet.

Last month when I had a word with sales person of Mitsubishi at Asian Motors, He said that the 280 bhp model of EVO X is expected here in India in early 2010 and will be priced competitively at around 28-30lacs.

the lancer which is based on EVO X platform was expected to launch in April 2009 with a price tag of 14lac plus. Market reseach of HM showed that they wont be able compete with civic or altis with a price tag of 14 lac and hence the idea was dropped. HM is now working on localisation of parts for the lancer which will take time. Hence, it is expect at the end of 2010 or the beginning of 2011 with a price tag of around 11 lac plus.

Till that time I guess they want to stretch with the new ralliart version of cedia (hell..they aint gonna sell any numbers what so ever they do with cedia plus putting a ralliart sticker on the car was the least thing expected of Mitsubishi. But you can expect this from HM..isntit? )

End of 2010 or beginning of 2011 seems to be long time for the new Lancer to be launched, by that time we might get next generation CIVC and a face lifted Altis which would be more exciting compared with the lancer.
