The best part was that i was unaware of the fact that the cars were not sold.. In fact dad has had this little secret from almost 28 years now.. He has not sold any vehicle he has bought. He likes to keep them.. and in a very secluded garage in Kerala...which is built over 2 acres.
Oye! What a dad! Where is this garage???

Hi Guys,

Good to see some old memories of all of you. Well I never had just memories except for the bikes that I have been driving all the time. But recently I upgraded to an esteem. I have bought a second hand Maruti Esteem for 180000 2001 fully loaded and with auto transmission.

I am happy with the kind of reponse that I am getting from the car. Hope to see many km in the ODO.

1. Restored Old Amby from '81 in '92. Bought it for 24,000/-. put 1lk in restoration. It has very powerfull AC( u can freeze in summer) sold for 1.5 lkh in '94.... good deal no.

2. new '94 M800 std. .... i think can be called as third gen from that year itself, sold it for 1,25,000/- in 2000 with 55,000km on the odo.

3. used '99 M800 dx. in 2000 dec for 1,65,000/- with 25,000km on odo. bought this one for AC , but what a horrible AC it was. sold it in March 2003 for 1,37,000/- with 45,000km odo.

4. new 2003 indica DLS V2. still trying to drive this one with 48,000km on the odo.

Nice thread

I dont know when i fell in love with cars but it has to be the Dukkar fiat first owned by my dad. As i belong to ajoint family we had many cars but i will only list what i had the experienec of. I can remmeber Dukkar fiat and Merc those bif ones you used to get that time black colour though cannot comment on ride as it is too way back to remmebr.

These cars were than accompanied with PP. Merc was sold off and PP were the way. Having those velvet cushioning on seats with a fan and radio was like royalty. Although, the car was then acompanied by Maruti followed by 118ne to Omni to indica and accent recently. Also a alto to push in

As far as i am conecrened i started with a 800 had some great times with gals . Followed it witha esteem wghich was a treat but sold off as i did not like it and know proudly own my dream car the

GYPSY

Nice posts some memories refereshed

1st car in the family was a Fiat Premier.. then 2 Omni vans one after the other, then 2 Esteems ( the 2nd one we had was used for rallies and had some really good stuff in it.)
Then we had an Opel Astra, followed by an Accent. Now its a 2001 Corsa that sitting in the garage..
My 1st car in the US was a Mazda Protege. Got the Mazda 3 in 2004.Gonna trade that in for a 2007 Suzuki XL-7 next year. Thats gonna be for the wife, while I hope to get my hands on a 'blue & white' 330ci..
