Must appreciate his persistent nature & the man fought on principle . Good order, 2 lakhs will be a nice sweetener & should teach the OP a lesson. Unfortunately, most of these contests are just fake promotions, because they know no one is going to follow up later.

I would say Renault were let off easy.

Rather than having to part with 5 vehicles (did they really give it out?) they are just having to pay peanuts (2 lakhs) that too after years of following up.

Fines like this rather than deterring the culprits just encourages them.To be frank I am disappointed.

Right you are, SideView. And it should be noted that it only happened because the plaintiff was a lawyer.. a "civilian" would have written it off entirely, as undoubtedly all the other such buyers will surely have.

This has basically reinforced my belief that Renault follows unethical practice for its India business. Duster fiasco, Kwid issues, Captur lies and now this. This is one company I would never ever deal with.

I'm amazed how the victim has got a judgement in his favor to contest cheating.

True, INR 2 lakh is peanuts.

I'd like to believe otherwise. The quantum of compensation maybe higher in stronger cases. Companies will rewrite their T & C for the lucky draw contests.
