The Forte, IMO, has the required 'glitz' and 'glamour' in the Indian context, to take on the D segment.
They could launch it as i35

or i25

The Kia Forte should replace the Verna in India, keeping the engine options same.
A Hyundai in the Fabia/Jazz territory will hardly find any buyers. However great the i30 might look,it doesn't have a market in India.Period.

I recall reading elsewhere, i30 is scheduled to be launched by November this year. I am quite curious about the pricing of this car though. Hyundai surely can't price this car very close to i20, and above that the price will be too stretched for this midsize extended hatch. This car is quite spacious with lots of bootspace (360 L to be precise). Hope this car comes sooner rather than later.

I don't see the i30 being launched in India. It is not all that big compared to i20 but will cost more and is a hatch to boot. Already i20 is hitting the 8 lakh mark, who is going to buy a 10 lakh hatch, even with a 2.0l engine?

Everything depends on the pricing. i20 Magna (Diesel) is priced at 7 lakhs. With i20 already getting good response and selling in good numbers why not the i30?

Well, if some one wants to buy a i20 close to 8 lakhs, I am sure he would stretch his/her budget and get a ANHC for 10 Lakhs! The pricing shoud be attractive in such a way that they can offer i30 at 7 Lakhs and reduce the price of i20 at 5 lakhs - 5.5 Lakhs! Keep i10 between 3.5 lakhs - 4.5 lakhs.

I am sure this pricing would be a killer!

While that pricing would be a killer, its also unlikely to happen. The i30 does not look like it will ever get sold in India.

I feel rather than replacing the Verna, kill the Accent, position the Verna there, bring in the Forte as a Hyundai in the Fiesta/Linea/ANHC/Optra segment. Forte is a much better looking car and can do wonders to the Hyundai in India.

Just my two naya paisa.

You stole my words!!!
I am hoping for Hyundai to phase-out Santro/Getz/Accent and replace with their much better newer global versions i10/i20/i30 (Not much sure about Accent ---> i30 though).

Hyundai has been in India for much more than a decade now, and I am sure with increased localization they can surely bring down the price of their models, in the similar range as mentioned above.

any news on I30 launch or a proper replacement for verna from hyundai yet? there hasnt been a proper upgrade from Hyundai for the accent crdi, i mean that car handles so well till date compared to its successor verna, i still have the viva and i would love a replacement that can handle the horses not the a car with MUSTANG concept of poor handling and heavy power on our highways.

so what say any new any one?

i30 is in the same league as Chevy SRV, which didn't failed to create the segment. Hyundai may not release a 130 hatch. They may release a i30 sedan to bridge the gap between i20 and Sonata.
