1.2 lakh Maruti Dzires sold in first 8 months of FY2019-20

Maruti Suzuki sold more than 1.2 lakh units of the Dzire compact sedan in the first 8 months of FY2019-20. The carmaker claims that total sales of the model have crossed 20 lakh units and market share has grown to over 60%.

In June 2019, the total sales of the Dzire had crossed the 19 lakh mark, making it the highest selling model in its segment. In 2018-19, Maruti sold 2.5 lakh units of the model, averaging monthly sales of over 21,000 units.

The Maruti Dzire is powered by a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine which makes 82 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 113 Nm @ 4,200 rpm. The diesel version employs a 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder oil burner that puts out 74 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 190 Nm @ 2,000 rpm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT.

Glad to know and feels better to have contributed '1' to the 1.2 Lakhs Dzire

In the next year till BS6 implementation, I believe there will again be a lot of demand for Dzire. It gives everything a middle class car owner desires for. Good features, decent looks, reasonable priced, both transmissions and both fuel options, variant spread is good, low maintenance, easier to own for a longer period of time, good resale and so on.
