Google has released a list of the top-searched car models in the Indian market for the year 2019.

Fortuner being on the list at third position is a bit surprising.

Re: Google's list of most searched car models in India for 2019

Another surprising fact is that not a single car from 2018 has made it to 2019's top 10 list. Because Fortuner is now a few years old in our market and still features in the 2019's list.

Surprised to find the Glanza at the bottom. People must have searched in a anticipation of a new premium hatchback from Toyota and would have been left dumbstruck by the end result.

IMHO was expecting the Seltos,Hector and the Venue in top 3 positions looking at the buzz they have created in our market.

Surprised to see that the Tata cars Harrier and Altroz didnt feature in the top 10. I thought that there was enough hype in the market for these two.

I don't think this list by Rushlane is reliable. Google didn't publish any such report & Venue Vs Baleno comparison on google trends shows Venue was searched a lot more than Baleno in last 12 months.

Re: Google's list of most searched car models in India for 2019

This cannot be true because the most awaited car of 2019, Kia Seltos is not in the top 5. I also don't see any reason for Baleno and Fortuner to be there. Like ram87pune and sunil said, Glanza is at 10 and Altroz and Harrier are just not there.

Thank you for that. Adding the other two popular cars to the comparison, here it is:

https://trends.google.com/trends/exp...r,Kia%20Seltos

Harrier has been consistently higher than Baleno and the Seltos picked up and shot to the top from June on.

2021: Toyota Tops Charts For Most Searched Automaker For Second Year Running.

Quote:
Toyota was the most searched brand on earth in 2021, according to Google Trends data assembled by Compare the Market. The automaker has topped the charts in 2018, 2020, and 2021.

Toyota appeared in the most search queries in 47 of 154 countries where data was tallied and accounted for around 31 percent of all automotive brand-related searches
Quote:
Toyota also had a few occasions to light the internet on fire this year. Along with the new Land Cruiser and Tundra, it also announced restoration support for the AE86 and revealed a number of EVs.
Quote:
BMW came in second and is the only other brand to have held the top spot since Compare the Market started tracking the data in 2018. In 2019, it topped the charts, becoming the most searched brand in a whopping 118 countries.

Mercedes, meanwhile, came in third yet again, though its electric vehicles appear to have helped it gain on the competition. It came just six countries short of taking second place away from BMW; last year, by contrast, it was 19 countries down on its German arch rival.

Re: Google's list of most searched car models in India for 2019

Toyota remains in the lead for the third year in a row as World's Most Searched OEM.

Quote:
The 2022 analysis reveals that Toyota was the most popular search of any car brand in 69 of the 155 countries included in the research, accounting for around 44.5% of total searches. That’s up from 31% of searches in 2021 – showing just how far behind Toyota has left its competitors in the dust. As for the country that loves Toyota the most online – that’s the United States. In 2022, the nation had a whopping average monthly search volume of 2,740,000. Yet, it wasn’t the nation’s favorite brand.
Quote:
Trailing behind in second and third place globally are BMW (most searched in 36 countries), and Mercedes (10 countries). Alongside Toyota, the three brands have consistently held the podium for each of the five years Compare the Market has run their analysis. Of those, 2019 was the only year Toyota lost the throne, with BMW securing an impressive 118 countries to its name.
Other names that saw big losses were the likes of Tesla, Renault, Rolls Royce and Mazda – all of which were absent as a top brand in any nation this year, unlike 2021, where they were the favorite in at least one country.
