First plug-in hybrid in the performance-oriented ŠKODA RS family
› Power output of 180 kW (245 PS) as well as RS-typical exterior and interior
› Four new electrified OCTAVIA models: the OCTAVIA RS iV, OCTAVIA iV and two OCTAVIA e-TECs

ŠKODA is offering a model from its RS family with plug-in-hybrid drive for the first time.

The new ŠKODA OCTAVIA RS iV has been fitted with a 1.4 TSI petrol engine and an 85-kW electric motor delivering a combined power output of 180 kW (245 PS). Featuring black details on the bodywork, the OCTAVIA RS iV can immediately be recognised as sporty top-of-the-range variant of ŠKODA’s bestseller, now in its fourth generation.

The Czech car manufacturer will offer the new OCTAVIA in three other electrified versions as well.

The OCTAVIA iV is a plug-in hybrid delivering 150 kW (204 PS) and is available in the Ambition and Style trims. Two e-TEC variants producing 81 kW (110 PS) and 110 kW (150 PS) make use of mild hybrid technology for the first time at ŠKODA.

No, "JAC" lol: did not confirm the launch anywhere. He's talking about the next gen Octavia 4th (IV) generation and not the Octavia iV (electric version). New Octavia will obviously be launched first, then the RS models will come later within 2021.

Well, you’re right, “confirmed” may not be the right word here, and thanks for correcting, I thought iV is the non RS variant and the iV RS is the one with electric motor :)

^ For a change i am fancying the interiors of the lower trim, the one with the Manual Gearbox :)

Detailed review of the new Octavia Estate. Seems to be quite an upgrade from the current one.

Verdict
Well done, Skoda. The Czech company has grabbed the latest VW Group technology and built an ultra-modern and desirable estate car, and one that is the largest in its class. Skoda has made small improvements in every area, and in combination they result in a car that should remain at the top of its segment. UK pricing and specs are still being finalised, so while this is an impressive package, there’s likely to be better value found elsewhere within the range.

Got to say, the estate looks beautiful even in sucha an elongated form. I never thought I would say this about an estate. Skoda designs are something out of the world. In the recent past, Skoda has emerged as the more desirable brand that VW. And they are able to do that across their complete portfolio. TRoc vs Karoq, All space vs Kodiaq, everywhere Skoda leads VW.

Internationally the 2.0 190 HP TSI Octavia comes with 4X4 system coupled to a 7 speed DSG. So are we getting the Octavia with a AWD system at launch?

If this is true, then that makes it the only sedan this side of 50 lakhs to get an AWD system? Time to start saving up! lol:

It cant be more expensive than the Superb, right? They are getting decent numbers in a market that dislikes D segment cars - why commit hara kiri? Corolla seems to have exited. Civic isnt doing well. Its perfect time to bring in the new Octy around the same prices & sell more than 500 copies a month!

As far as I know, India will get the FWD 2.0 TSI version and not AWD.

Skoda India's hands are totally tied here. There is massive disruption to European supply chains and general production in Mlada Boleslav, CZ. RHD cars are anyway made for few markets like UK, IN, SG etc, we just have to grin and bear it :Frustrati
