Re: Kia is the 5th largest car brand in India, based on October 2019 sales

Good show by Kia, especially in a market as tough to crack and the Indian. I am pretty sure that with the launch of the Sonet later this year, their sales will skyrocket even further given the compact size and potentially greater customer base for it.

Re: Kia is the 5th largest car brand in India, based on October 2019 sales

Kia Motors breaks into operating profit in its first year of India journey.

Revenue Equals Tata Motors PV. But Kia has posted +2.9% margin where Tata has -9.8% margin

Quote:
It had sold more than 105,000 units in the last fiscal year where exports contributed about a fifth of the total volumes.

In a market where global behemoths like General Motors, Ford and Volkswagen struggled to cross a 2-3% market share even after being present for over a decade, Kia has grabbed a 5% market share so far in FY21 and is knocking at the podium just behind Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra.

A strong volume performance of the Indian subsidiary is helping Kia Motors grow its size in the global operations. Contribution from India grew to 3.9% of Kia Motors’ global revenue in the July-September quarter from 1.4% a year earlier

Re: Kia is the 5th largest car brand in India, based on October 2019 sales

Kia Motors India says it has received tremendous demand for models from all across the country and therefore wants to be present even in the remotest of locations.

Quote:
We are expanding our network and are aiming to reach 300 touchpoints by the end of this year and will now focus on expansion in tier-IV and upcountry markets which will help us further penetrate deeper in the Indian market," Tae-Jin Park, executive director and chief sales officer of Kia Motors India.
