Is it really a sub-4m car? To me, it is of the same size of seltos and creta.

I also had this doubt. But if see closely the rear has been padded up as part of camouflage

The below images show it clearly. The rear probably ends where I've marked in blue.

In this images the rear windshield is inside the padded area and there is a gap visible

re: The Kia Sonet Compact SUV, now unveiled

Wow - this car looks almost ready! KIA really has entered the market with things set in order beforehand. Previously I thought there will be a lull after the Seltos arrival & next car will come only around the onset of 2021. But this car looks as if its ready to break cover in showrooms immediately after the auto-expo!

re: The Kia Sonet Compact SUV, now unveiled

I remember reading in the latest issue of Autocar that the Kia compact SUV's styling would be heavily influenced by the Kia xCeed. If that is true, this is gonna be a looker!

+1. Only the opening images in the thread seem to be of the sub-4m. Number plate placement at the rear, tail lamps and size gives it away.

But -

1. Those wheels look same as Seltos GT line. And the car in proportion look very similar to Seltos compared to the wheels.

2. See the size difference with respect to Grand i10. Venue was almost ditto as the Grand i10 from the rear, whereas this is huge like Seltos.

Edit -

This is a Seltos, still under testing for some reasons. Here's the exact same car spied under testing back in April 2019. Plates can be seen in the images and size difference compared to Brezza as well. More pics here - https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/india...ml#post4578046 (The Kia Seltos SUV (SP Concept). EDIT : Launched at Rs. 9.69 lakhs)

Wow, Kia is firing from all cylinders. And that too in the hottest segment, SUVs. Dimensionally, it does look similar in size to the Seltos. Maybe a lower spec. Have to wait till the Auto Expo, I guess, for the reveal. Great going, Kia!

Kia is clearly taking our market very seriously. Wishing them good luck.
They deserve it.

If Jeep had even a quarter of a brain in their marketing and sales plus production departments, they would have urgently cracked the market wide open by rapidly bringing in their Renegade and manufacturing it in India and pricing it nicely like they smartly did, the Compass.

The Renegade would have been the perfect urban SUV and a wonderful functional and extremely viable option for the new age SUV and cross over seekers.

Jeep had a very good head start. And they had excellent success with the Compass.

Now they've blown it all away.
Because the Indian car buyer has more choices than ever before, in this particular space.

re: The Kia Sonet Compact SUV, now unveiled

India-bound Kia compact SUV spied in Korea, gets upright styling; will come to India next year.
Quote:
The heavily disguised test mule gets the traditional upright styling that’s liked by SUV buyers. Unlike other newer SUVs that have launched in India, Kia seems to have given the split-headlamp design a miss, with more conventional headlamp units sitting on either side of the brand’s tiger nose grille; lower down on the front bumper sit fog lamps. The model spotted seems to be either of a mid-spec or a lower variant, because we expect top-spec variants to come with LED lights and Kia’s signature ice-cube styled fog lamps.

The rear of the upcoming Kia compact SUV looks heavily disguised, though the images do show a raked rear windshield and a little of the tail-lamps detailing. This, however, confirms that the Kia SUV will get a completely new and more rounded body shell, as opposed to the Hyundai Venue’s more squarish design.

While the model is expected to share its underpinnings with the Hyundai Venue, Kia has done enough to give the model a distinctive look, including changes to the window line, especially near the rear quarter-glass. Completing the exterior look are 16-inch wheels that are interestingly shod with Apollo 215/60 R16 tyres, which are also seen on duty on the Hyundai Venue.

re: The Kia Sonet Compact SUV, now unveiled

Kia's Brezza/Venue/Nexon/EcoSport challenger will be launched in India in the festive season of 2020, as per an official statement.

India might be the first market for Kia's sub-4m SUV, codenamed QYi, which will be showcased to the world in near-production form at the 2020 Auto Expo.

In a statement released today, Kia said (translated):
Kia Motors will produce and sell two newly developed RV models next year. In the first and second half of next year, the company plans to introduce 'Premium MPV' and 'Small Entry SUV' respectively.
The Kia sub-4 metre SUV will be based on the same platform that, in one or other version, underpins a variety of B- and C-segment models from Hyundai and Kia brands, including the Hyundai Venue. In India, expect it to be offered with 120 PS 1.0L turbocharged petrol, 115 PS 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol and 115 PS 1.5L turbocharged diesel engine options. A 6-speed manual transmission will likely be standard, while an automatic transmission option may be offered only the 1.0L petrol engine, a 7-speed dual-clutch unit.

If Seltos's success is anything to go buy, KIA will come out with all guns blazing at Brezza/ Venue/ Nexon/ EcoSport/ WR-V ( If I may add )

- This will impact Ford the most, considering EcoSport has been their bread winner

- Xuv 3oo will also be heavily hit since it is overpriced as such and knowing KIA's pricing they will undercut all the above mentioned models

Re: Rumour: Maruti Vitara Brezza facelift in the works

Not sure what car this is - Grille & Alloys indicate KIA.
Spotted testing on W.E.H., Mumbai on 12/12/2019 - Borivali to Chembur.
AP number plate.

Alloys and overall side price does indicate the car is a Kia alongwith the AP registration plate.

That's clearly the upcoming Venue twin from Kia. The alloy wheel design also is a giveaway that it's a Kia.
