I think the designers at Maruti are quite busy. None of the door pads and switches are changed from the 1st generation. Except for the change in the fabric color.

Maruti Suzuki XL6 to be sold in Alpha and Zeta variants

Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch its next model for India, the Ertiga-based XL6 6-seater, on August 21, 2019. The company will sell the XL6 via its Nexa dealership chain, unlike the standard Ertiga which continues to be retailed via Maruti's Arena showrooms.

It will only be available in 1.5L Petrol.

Well, nothing has redefined or devalued a word in the English language like the Indian auto industry has done to the word "Premium".

The word really has no meaning anymore at all. German, American car makers must be wondering what they need to call their cars if this is "premium". Their metrics won't easily let them name their 110D or 320D a "luxury" car directly.

An Ertiga based car proclaimed as a PREMIUM MPV. Really... No wonder this industry is in trouble in India.

Maruti XL6 MPV first design sketches revealed

Maruti Suzuki has released the first design sketches of the upcoming XL6 MPV.

The Ertiga-based MPV gets a new trapezoidal grille with a chrome strip in the centre and re-profiled headlamp clusters. The front bumper has an integrated skid plate. The XL6 has flared wheel arches and is likely to get roof rails. At the rear, it gets L-shaped tail lights and a redesigned bumper.

The Maruti XL6 will be offered in a 3-row seating configuration. The 2nd row is expected to get separate captain seats. It could get all-black interiors with faux wood trim and silver inserts, a touchscreen infotainment system and a 3-spoke, multi-function steering wheel.

The XL6 is likely to be powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine with mild-hybrid technology that is available on the Ciaz and Ertiga. It produces 103 BHP and 138 Nm of torque and comes paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission.

Nose and tail mimics a Volvo. Best would be to launch it with a full hybrid form with the 1.5 petrol. I some how feel the 1.5 diesel will also be offered.

Maruti Suzuki has released the first sketches of its upcoming six-seater - the XL6 - that will be launched on August 21. It will be sold via the brand’s Nexa premium dealership chain.

Official sketches reveal the XL6’s design, which is somewhat different from the Ertiga's. It gets a more upright nose with a flatter hood, and a new trapezoidal grille design with dual chrome strips at the centre. The front-end sports a chunky look with unique design elements below the LED headlights. What's interesting is that the tail lamps are the same present on the Thai Ertiga.

On the inside, the XL6 will come with an all-black cabin, which will have a six-seat layout. The second row will feature individual captain seats, which is a first for any Maruti Suzuki Nexa product. Additionally, it will come with a height-adjustable driver’s seat and a rear wash-wipe function, and the new SmartPlay Studio infotainment system. Features on the top-spec XL6 Alpha will include a reverse camera, leather seats and cruise control. This might be a more premium highway cruiser than the Ertiga.

Under the hood, the XL6 will come with a 1.5-litre petrol engine paired to either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed torque convertor automatic.

It would've been better if they offered their new 1.5-litre Diesel unit. Since as the other bhpians also say Diesel+At= perfect highway cruiser.
