re: 2nd-gen Maruti Celerio launched at Rs. 4.99 lakh

Really Suzuki!!! Who are you fooling, from the pull type door handles in the current Celerio, to the flap type from the Alto.

We do deserve better.

All the best.

I like how the exterior front and rear looks. To me, this is how the rightful evolution of Alto should have progressed aesthetically. Rest everything on this car reeks of being designed atleast two decades back. Just look at those horrible alloys.

This car will only click with utilitarian consumers.

re: 2nd-gen Maruti Celerio launched at Rs. 4.99 lakh

Front end looks Cute, gives a mini Ambassador vibe. Side silhouette reminds of Grand i10 Nios. Rear silhouette looks A-Star'ish and taillamps placement looks Swift'ish. Request sensors buttons look out of place. Instrument cluster backlight should have been white. Reddish backlit cluster looks gaudy in the pictures.

This car will be a hit because it is a Maruti. Who cares if like minded people on this forum do not like it. For people it is Maruti ki Nayee Gaadi (Maruti's new car).

Get ready for another Waitlisted car in Maruti Portfolio

Maruti has taken inspiration from Indian Railways / Low cost airlines and have introduced a new category in automobiles "Premium Economy". The only difference here is cost cutting, Maruti's Piece De Resistance is written all over the car.

1. Request Sensor with Flap type door handles.
2. Electrically adjustable and foldable mirrors with Push button start, with power window controls below infotainment system
3. Rear wash wipe with defogger with manual day night IRVM, fixed headrests.
4. Dead pedal, request sensor on boot and alloy wheels with 90's orange colour digital readout for MID and tachometer.

This will be the marketing mantra for Maruti - "hum aapko premium feel karwange economy class gaadi me bhi. Sone pe suhaga super bland design."

Maruti's new mantra for selling cars in 21 century. Oh and did I forget a premium version of the same car with higher price will land up in Nexa with a new name. Just brilliant Maruti!!!!

Wow, looks like a replacement for Alto, and from the spy shots new Alto looks more like a Celerio. Maruthi needs to hire new designers immediately and sorry to say this looks ugly in my eyes( doesn't matter it will sell thousands and will be in top 10 list soon)

The current gen Celerio looks better than this one. Thats saying something because the current gen isn't exactly a looker. In a weird way, I am glad. Maruti has been taking its market leader status for granted

re: 2nd-gen Maruti Celerio launched at Rs. 4.99 lakh

Surprised!
Look at the door handles. Maruti has engaged reverse gear in terms of its design.
Old flap type door handles and the request sensor look out of the place.
Why Maruti is downgrading the existing Celerio?
Is it filling the gap created by discontinuing Alto K10?

I can only say one thing - I just love my current Celerio. I don't have words for what a disaster of a product the new one is. It is an insult to designing and engineering with such stupid implementation. By avoiding switches on the driver side door pad, they are saving money and needn't design different door pads for different variants. And those request sensors are just trolling customers with how much more of crap they could sell. I'm sure this car would go the Zen Estilo way. And this launch might come with a price raise which would cost as much as what THE Swift costed a few years back.

If the previous celerio's AGS woes were not enough, these confused disastrous looks will definitely put the final nail in the coffin for the Celerio nameplate !

This will be in Top 10 charts, for reasons we do not know.
A mix os Astar, Alto and even Hyundai Getz.

re: 2nd-gen Maruti Celerio launched at Rs. 4.99 lakh

If Maruti keeps it in the 4.5 to 6.5 lakh ex-showroom bracket, I believe it will sell in good numbers. Contrary to the general opinion on this thread, I find the design rather likeable. I am sure a few things placed at weird locations won't be a deal-breaker for most. Though variant distribution (AMT/CNG) and differentiation from Wagon R will be the key to its success.

re: 2nd-gen Maruti Celerio launched at Rs. 4.99 lakh

The design is unbelievably ugly! As someone said, it makes the old celerio look positively stunning which is no mean feat. I am sure it will sell in great numbers as it is a maruti but seriously it is unthinkable that that they can get away with this in this day and age!
Even the ac control knobs look like they have been sourced from a 2 decade old parts bin!
