If true, this is going to be a game-changer for Hyundai. They always had production constraints and never could go beyond 50K mark. With i20 moving to Kia, they have suddenly opened up 10-12K unit capacity which can be utilized for Venue/Creta. With Next gen Creta going up the ladder in terms of price and size, we will in near future see Venue as the number one Sub 4M CSUV beating Brezza easily with/without discounts.

i20 production moving to KIA is again significant in terms of KIA manufacturing capacities. With Seltos doing consistently 6-7K units and i20 maintaining their 10-11K, that's easily 2L units, and still they have minimum 1L capacity for churning out future KIA cars.

From Averaging 45-50K units per month, Hyundai + Kia will be consistently doing close to 70-75K, a whopping 50% increase. Now this is a clear surgical strike on MSIL. MSIL needs to up their game now. Baleno is already 4 years old. Although it's a bit early, they need to up their game and bring even more beautiful Baleno.

I wish the mechanical ones come as an option at least,love them, though this trend is going to continue and people are gonna love it. Hope Maruti keeps tab of it, it is slowly losing market share to Hyundai any which ways.

I also think that the current analog instrument cluster in Hyundais are some of the best in business. I feel they are as good or even better than some premium brands. Going with this very basic and built-to-cost looking digital panel seems to be like a huge downgrade to me.

3rd-gen Hyundai i20 spotted with all 4 disc brakes

According to the latest spy images, the third generation Hyundai i20 could get disc brakes on the front and rear axles.



Earlier this year, the new i20 was spotted testing in India for the first time. The car is likely to get a redesigned front grille with slim headlamp clusters and new tail lights. It is likely to get refreshed interiors with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster.

In India, the new i20 might get 1.2-litre petrol and 1.4-litre diesel engine options. Additionally, Hyundai might also offer the 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine from the Venue. The car could get manual or dual-clutch automatic transmissions.

I can confirm this. I spotted the test mule last week here in Chennai. I saw the very same digital speedo layout when I peered inside. It did indeed seem "heavily-inspired" by BMW's digital cluster .

I20 looks sharp and is going to heat up the segment again for sure. But, I’m sure everyone will enjoy BMW console at Hyundai pricing

But I agree with you - the grille shapes and design are getting weirder as newer models roll out. Many of the bumpers are now having integrated with the grill design - this must be trend industry is following now.

The digital instrument cluster shown in the picture is of the 2020 iX25 ( Creta), not of the i20. Anyhow it is pretty sure that the market is running towards digital meters.

Latest spy images of the next generation Hyundai i20 have revealed the car's new interior and digital instrument cluster.



The test car seen in the spy images has a black interior with a 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel. It has a digital instrument cluster with circular dials. The display in the centre is set to show the lane departure warning system. The engine temperature gauge is in the right hand side corner of the screen. The car also has a touchscreen infotainment head-unit and automatic climate control.

In India, the new i20 could be offered with a 1.0-litre turbo petrol, 1.2-litre petrol and 1.4-litre diesel engine options. It could get manual or dual-clutch automatic transmissions and disc brakes on both axles.

I remember that the pre-facelift(2009-2012) 1st generation i20 offered a sunroof and 6 air bags along with a touchscreen navigation system. The i20 was really ahead for it's time!
Hopefully the new one has some tricks up it's sleeve.

2020 Hyundai i20 To Get Sunroof Confirms New Spy Pictures

The new spy pictures of the 2020 Hyundai i20 have emerged on the web. The images confirm that the hatchback’s new model (India-spec) will receive a sunroof along with significant cosmetic upgrades.

Major design changes will be made at the front end. The new i20 will get a more imposing hexagonal grille, newly-designed halogen headlamps with angular design, sleeker air intake and new fog lamp housing.

Other highlights will include new wing mirrors, LED brake lights, newly-designed alloy wheels and wider ORVMs. We have reported earlier that the 2020 Hyundai i20 will be the first car in its segment to offer all digital instrument cluster.

The carmaker might also equip with the hatchback with its BlueLink connected car technology along with a new, larger 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Features such as wireless charging, automatic climate control, new steering wheel, rear AC vents and 6 airbags will also be on offer.

Saw this car today in Gurgaon Golf Course Road . Not sure which one is this . It was a Top version as the car had alloys and also what appears to be cruise control button on the steering.

Could be a Hyundai, as HR87 is for Faridabad where Hyundai has an R&D centre.

Going by those two slits on the rear bumper, looks like they are going to give only 2 parking sensors like other new Hyundais. This is really annoying how they are doing cost cutting for the most basic features but are happy to give bigger touchscreens.
