The design looks very bizarre. I find many of the Citroen cars looks very similar, only the size is getting bigger or smaller like the Russian dolls.

Really liked both the exterior and interiors!! If Citroen doesn’t goof-up the price, this could be a game-changer offering something new to the market in terms of its French appeal and design.

Loved the concept of the preventing the phone cable from dangling around the gearbox and handbrake lever area, in an effective and not too ugly manner!

The Citroën C3 is based on the CMP modular platform that will underpin other vehicles, including a sub-four-metre SUV from sister-brand, Jeep. The platform has been heavily localised for India with more than 90 percent components being locally sourced. Citroën is expected to position the C3 quite aggressively in its segment.

Citroen will be looking to price the C3 very competitively in India and given it's positioning, it will rival the likes of the upcoming Tata Punch, Maruti Ignis and even premium hatchbacks like the Maruti Baleno.

The Citroen C3 is future-ready by design, the platform can accept a fully electric powertrain, if and when the market asks for it.

Seems to be the logical segment for the C3. Citroën has positioned the C3 as a hatchback internationally as well. As seen below the C3 fits better into the premium hatchback segment with the Jazz and the new i20 (the C3 has nearly identical dimensions to the previous gen i20).


It is the suffix 'Aircross' which denotes Citroën's SUVs and there is a separate model, the C3 Aircross, which fits better into the Indian sub-compact SUV segment. For context, the sub-4m SUVs do stand a good 200mm taller than the C3 but are similarly sized vis-à-vis the C3 Aircross.


It's most likely the tall-boy-ish styling which caused some confusion. Although Citroën could even try and straddle both the premium hatch and sub-4m SUV segments with one product. After all we do live in a time where the Ignis went from a tall-boy hatchback one day to a mini-SUV the next (whatever that means). Funny world where the S-Presso is a micro-SUV and Tata's Punch (effectively a tall-boy) is a "next-gen no compromise SUV"

The C3 seems more promising than I thought although I predict it'll sell in a lower segment than expected (Maybe around the Celerio/Santro), based on the fender-mounted turn signals, the flap type handles, the front-mounted antenna, manual exterior mirror adjustments, fixed head restraints, missing rear wiper and the mechanical air conditioner dials.

I can't help feeling a bit 'Captur'ed here - they could have named it something other than C3, or maybe C3 with some suffix (like they use AirCross and Cactus). Or you'll have people using international reviews and ratings for this localised version.

Looks pretty. Happy that they haven't tried to position it in a segment above where it actually belongs too. Being French, the design was expected to be quirky but smart. Many of the components seems to be taken from the bigger C5. I hope the rear seats are proper bench with armrests unlike the individual seats of C5.
