Offtopic.

The Yaris we got is the ASEAN one, also called as the Vios/ Yaris ATIV. The Yaris hatchback also shared the same platform, so it is not exactly different, but kind of muggled up in different markets. Add to that, the Yaris sold in USA was a Mazda. And then there is the new gen Yaris based on the TNGA platform, which is sold only in Europe and Japan.

I believe this particular car frame is being extensively tested. I've spotted these multiple times along the Trichy Ulundurpettai stretch. The car was zipped accross at about 120 kmph barely braking. I did mistake the car for a kwid until I saw the Citroen bagde.

Stellantis started production of the New Citroën C3 in Porto Real, in the interior of Rio de Janeiro. The car that you see in the pictures is the model that will be available for the Indian Market with India specific suspension set up and other features deleted for our country (eg:- rear wiper & washer)

As a result of the C-Cubed project, which will also have two other regional models for the South American markets, the New C3 will also be available in India soon, being a model aimed at emerging markets.

C3 will be an entry hatchback, reinforcing a segment that is being filled with Micro SUVs and other affordable hatbacks from various manufacturers

With a lot of versatility and personality, the new C3 will soon reach the Indian market, with very attributes, such as excellent ground clearance and a high seating position for the driver. In addition to the typical characteristic of comfort known from Citroën, the new C3 will offer one of the best interior spaces in the segment. The vehicle’s design was carefully thought out to offer a product with great quality, connectivity, and above all, an affordable vehicle in the B-segment 5-door hatchback.

The new Citroën C3 is built upon the Common Modular Platform (CMP) architecture, which is recognized worldwide as a modern, modular, and highly flexible platform used for B and C segment vehicles. The CMP architecture was recently announced to be underpinning the upcoming all-new electrified Jeep® B-SUV coming by the end of the year and a sub-four-metre SUV from sister-brand Jeep. Citroen’s new model will be heavily localised and will come with a 1.2-litre petrol engine mated to either a 5-speed manual or an automatic gearbox. There is also a rumour that 1.2 litre engine will be available both in NA and Turbocharged forms with the former producing around 86ps and the latter producing 100ps. C3 when launched will be positioned at the lower end of the compact SUV market which will rival the Tata Punch, Magnite and the Kiger.

- For S American and India markets

- Is based on the new CMP platform (the same used by the Peugeot 208 made in Argentina)

-Although it shares the CMP platform with the Indian model, Stellantis reinforces that the development of the new generation of the hatch had the participation of Brazilian and Latin American engineering teams from the beginning.

-Dimensions: Citroën C3 is 3.98 meters long, has a height from the ground of 180 millimeters (GC)and a wheelbase of 2.54 m, while the trunk has a capacity of 315 liters.

-The cabin will have 653 mm of second-row legroom, while the front seats have 991 mm of headroom and 1,418 mm for elbow room.

-Citroën will offer 13 color options for the new C3, including two-tone options with the roof painted in a contrasting color

-The hatch will also feature a flat-bottomed steering wheel, as well as a fully digital instrument panel like the Cactus.

-Will have manual adjustment of the air conditioning

-Central part will be a large 10” screen equipped with the Citroën Connect Touchscreen system, also supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay without the use of cables (via Wi-Fi)

-Voice commands are also provided, as the steering wheel has buttons for this function. The hatch will also have 3 USB ports for fast charging and a conventional 12V socket

-Specific location in the center console for cell phones and three locations designed for smartphone holders near the air vents (including a near the center).

-Citroën says that the hatch will have more than 150 combinations between its versions, colors and accessories.

- Powertrain details are yet to be revealed.

Uninspiring design. One would at least hope for the top end variants to be nicely specced, but nope! Why would I pick this over the Venue? Come on, Citroên!

Tata Punch, I understand. But Wagon-R and Ignis? No way. Besides, the lower models of the Venue make more sense.

From the latest images of the C3, I have a strong feeling Citroen is going the Renault way. Everyone is expecting it to rival the Punch and Ignis, but we should look lower. This could be Citroen's play to rival the Kwid and Celerio. The steel wheels with covers, flappy door handles and the knobs for climate control are a clear indication of where this car is going to be placed. I would expect a slight premium over the Celerio and Kwid and should come in below the Punch.

Call me sceptical but the way companies are pricing their models and Citroen priced C5, no way this is coming at a price below Punch, certainly not at Kwid and Celerio price point. I expect price between Punch and Nexon. Anything lower, I would be pleasantly surprised.

Sharing video link (LATAM Specific), I am hoping IN one does not dissappoint and comes with required bells and whistles (read rear wipers etc) in atleast top spec as we haven't seen any top model being tested on our roads.

We must protest against the usage of the "emerging market" in reference to India. We are at number number 4 by car sells in the world. It is yet another tag for exclusion to undermine a market. Just because Europeans and American car makers have largely failed to make customer centric products here and have failed to garner positive sells, they can not forever call India an "emerging market".

Saw this yesterday at the Chennai bypass... Dual tone (white with orange top) - pics:

Not just Automobile manufacturers but for all kind of investments especially from Europe and NA; Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, South Africa, Poland, Turkey, India, Indonesia, China, and South Korea are all emerging markets. All these countries are classified as EME (Emerging Market Economy). Unless and until the tag of an EME is replaced by a Developed Economy, we will be treated as an Emerging Market.

With a 2000$ / year average per capita income in India , calling it an emerging market itself is being generous. The market has been flat since 2012 with no volume growth whatsoever. This whole number 4 in total sales is sheer population at work, nothing else.

Another factor that goes into the classification of emerging market, is that most cars sold here are budget, low cost cars.
