Re: Next-gen Mahindra Scorpio | Now revealed as Scorpio-N

I still remember when Scorpio was originally launched, it created such an awe factor. Nothing in comparison looked as butch and masculine even though we had few Tatas in the market at that time. Will surely book 4x4 variant once available and will keep it/cancel basis TeamBHP review of driving dynamics and second row comfort. If dynamics and comfort levels are sorted, this would be an ideal vehicle to get Leh'ed and Spiti'fied compared to coming back coughing "Ohh Ohh" (with no disrespect intended for respective owners).

Possibly to show that it is rear wheel drive based. Possibly not a full time AWD based system and required you to shift a lever or switch to 4H from 2H.

Mahindra should work on better alloy design for this one. I am sure they have lifted this design straight from some hatchback.

Re: Next-gen Mahindra Scorpio | Now revealed as Scorpio-N

Wow, the taillamps look like they are a straight lift from the XC90. Atleast maruti made some effort to change the design a little bit.

In my opinion, that is not a good thing. They could've given something authentic for Scorpio, not like it doesn't have any brand value. This just looks like a straight up copy of the Volvo design.

Re: Next-gen Mahindra Scorpio | Now revealed as Scorpio-N

The promotional pictures are impressive but can be deceptive. It may not be as big as it looks. I have seen the test mules in Chennai outskirts they look only very slightly bigger than the current model. Also the interiors are unimpressive. In general not a D segment. Having said that the test mule interiors may not be representative. Jeep Meridian looks more plush and better quality than ScorpioN.

Obviously. It costs more than two times of the ScorpioN.

Anand Mahindra commented to a meme regarding Scorpio-N and Rohit Shetty.

The comment shows the trust he has in the product's toughness and safety.

If we observe below the scorpio tag, it looks like a similar body colored applique which is there in current scorpio to cut visual chunk of metal. Looking at limited content i think rear is going to be quite smart unlike what people fear, if one like the current one, i am in that camp.

Why do I get Xylo vibes from this new scorpio design?

Fantastic pricing if true, somewhat expected. Can't complain about those looks now.
Though honestly, just about 3 people in India will be able to get them at that price before price balloons to 11L shortly.

Re: Next-gen Mahindra Scorpio | Now revealed as Scorpio-N

Looks are subjective, hence having owned the previous gen scorpio in my opinion , this one from the rear looks like a wagon R on steeroids, and again very typical of Mahindra to create media hoopala and what not before the actual launch and once a frenzy is created amongst the general public, post a wait time of 1-2 years.

They launched the XUV7OO at 11.99 lakhs, didn't they? It's a different story that the same variant is now priced at 13.18 lakhs! They'll probably do something similar, for the first 25k/ 50k bookings - and then increase the price by a couple of lakhs.

But I wish/ hope they sort supply-side issues and create a capacity for, say, 50k or 100k vehicles at launch - the ridiculous wait times are a serious buzzkill
